Priyadarsan's Bhagam Bhaag with Govinda, has promised his co-actor
Upen Patel to train him in the martial arts before they start
shooting for Vipul Shah's next Namaste London.
Kumar's gesture came after he got an SMS from Patel, where the young
actor confessed to being his fan and even expressed his desire to
have a physique like him. "I was flattered when I received the
message and called him back because I hardly get such flattering
SMSes from my co-actors. More often than not, they accuse me of
chopping their roles," Kumar jokes.
Akshay Kumar, who has been professionally trained in Karate and Kung
Fu, has also done a television show on martial arts for Discovery
Channel. He says: "I am a fitness freak and I love people who are
sincere about working out and. Upen is a very fit person. All he
needs is a little guidance which can make him perfect."
Meanwhile Upen is highly excited. "I casually messaged him after
watching Phir Hera Pheri. I have always admired him for his looks
and his fitness. I know I am fit, but I want to be as fit as Akshay.
So when he called back, I simply couldn't believe it. It was like a
dream come true for me. I am looking forward to meeting him in
London during the shooting of the film," he says.
Incidentally Patel's family is based in London and his mother is
quite fond of Kumar. "He promised that he would come over to my
place for a meal. My parents are already excited and my mom has
asked me to send her a list of his favourite dishes," he says.
Significantly at a time when Suneel Darshan has vowed to make Upen
Patel another Akshay Kumar, the actors seem busy bonding with each
other as if to put an end to controversies even before they arise.
Patel meanwhile is set to leave for South Africa to shoot for
Darshan's film.
