Poco, I have got to say that this hands down your best analysis and that is saying something because I basically love everything you write! I was literally either laughing or nodding my head while reading the entire thing, and I think I read it three times to be able to write my own response, but that's totally ok because Friday is the only episode I can discuss and analyze about as much as I want so I don't want to miss that opportunity! 😆
Borna, you know this whole North Pole and South Pole analogy couldn't be more perfect for them, because it describes the very essence of their relationship at the moment, but at the same time we know that as time goes on it will become a perfect contradiction to it as well (and I not sure if that made any sense at all, but I'll try to explain). Right now, fate has been intervening at every occasion to bring these two closer, because if they're left on their own, they would want nothing but to be miles apart from each other, especially Aarti! And if Yash wasn't so focused in trying to clear her misunderstandings, he wouldn't want to have any interaction with her either. So in a way, like Saman said in the AU, these misunderstandings are also another form of intervention by destiny that keeps bringing them back to each other whether they like it not, because had it not been for them, they both would have been completely indifferent to each other.
They both want to stay away from each other, the coldness, awkwardness and uncomfortableness is there in abundance every time they're around each other, and yet somehow they end up coming closer to each other every time they're within a 10 foot radius of each other. And once you situations and luck start throwing two people together at every turn possible, they can't help but be drawn to each other, whether they realize it or not. Like today, when Aarti fell in Yash's arm, there were a couple of initial seconds where they both forgot who they were and what situation they were in, and only focused on each other, both trying to search for something in each other's eyes. And what I find interesting is that Aarti comes back to reality much faster than Yash, and is a lot more conscious of their surroundings and who might be watching than Yash. As soon as she same back to her sense, her eyes immediately darted around, while Yash's were still fixed on her face, and when she realized that he wasn't going to be moving, she took that initiative for him, and moved out of his arms. This makes me think that in these moments that Yash share with Aarti, no matter how miniscule they are, he really lets go of his past with Arpita, even if it is just for a little bit, and seems almost curious and intrigued by his present and future with Aarti. Aarti's brain is still filled with all the misunderstandings and misconceptions about Yash's character which makes it difficult for her to see past her initial inhibitions, but Yash doesn't have any preconceived notions about her. The only thing that is holding him back from accepting this relationship is his love and devotion to Arpita, and after today, I feel that one of the reason he hasn't been able to come out of that tragedy is because no one in his family is willing to let him move on from it. There has been a mention of Arpita from every family member, and they all use her name as a form of blackmail to get Yash to agree to their whims and wishes. So if his own memories weren't enough, he constantly have to deal with other people reminding him of the moments he shared with Arpita and the promises he made to her, and this has become a huge hindrance for him to close the door on his past. But Aarti is a burst of fresh air in his life, the only person who doesn't know anything about his past life with Arpita, she is a new beginning for him, someone who will bring him out of the darkness that he has surrounded himself in, and even though he fails to acknowledge that right now, he senses that there is something about her that is intriguing. I think she has been the first change in his life ever since Arpita's death, and that territory comes with a lot of new feelings, questions and curiosity, and these are some things Yash hasn't dealt with in a very long time. And whenever there is an intrusion in our life, we are naturally drawn to it whether we like it or not, even if it is just to understand it better, and I think this process has already started for Yash.
So while I know it will take a long time for Yash to become conscious of his actions and feelings towards Aarti, I personally feel that the slightest cracks have subconsciously already appeared in the Arpita wall he has created around his heart. The first time I had this thought was when Yash had walked Aarti back home in the rain after the Cafe Delight disaster, and had witnessed her playing in the rain with Ansh. In those few moments he was completely lost in her beauty as a mother, and while he was thinking for his daughters, the fact still stands that she was able to distract him from his past for a little bit. The true smile that was unconsciously brought to his face as he saw the mother-son scene highlighted the first time he truly saw something about Aarti that he liked and respected, and in those moments he was living in the present and actually thinking about their future ahead. The smile was still in it's place when he was walking back, but when he saw the ring, he was immediately transported in the past, and his justification to Arpita behind the reason for this second marriage showed that he truly felt guilty for actually letting Arpita out of his mind for a little bit. That was the beginning of the slow and gradual process that Yash will be going through in his journey from the past to present, and without knowing about it Aarti has already become a catalyst to it. In those few moments when destiny literally pushes them on top of each other, they learn to close the door on their past, albeit temporarily, and try to open their eyes to their present and future which is with each other.
And this is interesting because in the beginning of the show, I was a 110% sure that Aarti will be falling for Yash first, but now I change my mind with every episode. Because from where I am looking at things, I don't think it will take very long for their feelings to start changing each other, but the real challenge will be the acknowledgement and acceptance of these feelings, and that will take a very long time, because like Poco so aptly said, Yash is mahaziddi and mahakhadoos. And Aarti is mahajudmental and mahanakkchadi. They will both see it as some sort of a failure on their part if they end up falling for the other because of all the promises they made to themselves about marrying for the sake of their children and what not. And the way they both deal with this internal conflict and dilemma within them will be very interesting to watch unfold.
There is already such a strong connection between these two, and with destiny showing them her new card at every turn, it will be almost impossible for them to ignore each other. There is always going to be a wide spectrum of emotions where Yash and Aarti are involved, but ignorance is not going to be one of them. Yash can try as much as he can to pretend that he is not affected by her, but his insistence to see her and clear her misunderstandings show that despite not wanting to, he cares what she thinks about him. I mean his face today when he saw Aarti at the bachelor party was worth watching. He did not like the fact that she saw him in this avatar and it didn't settle well with him, and as for Aarti she is doing her very best at covering up any possibility to feel anything for him except for disgust, but at the end of the day he still effects her.
You know how they say that the opposite of love should be ignorance not hatred, because when you hate someone there are still feelings involved, but when you're ignorant towards them you don't have any emotions and that is truly a terrible thing to be a part of. So despite the fact that her feelings for Yash are nothing but negative, he still stirs an emotional response from her, his presence and his touch affects her. And after today we can say that it might not be in the worst way. Even though Aarti stayed true to his character by asking him to put her down again and again (she was hyper aware that there were a lot of people around them and it made all the more uncomfortable), there was no frostiness or disgust in her tone, not the way she would like it to be.Yes, she was struggling with him, but at a subconscious level her mind and heart were at war with each other, which is once again something that will take time for her to become accustomed to. But it shows that just how Yash has to a certain degree accepted her as his soon to be wife, and find himself drawn to her every time she is in some kind of trouble to help her out, because he has feels that she is now his responsibility, the same way Aarti knows that as her fiancee and soon to be husband, Yash has a right over her that no other man has, and that is what terrifies her. So in their own ways, they have both acknowledged what the other person has or will become to them, and that really is the first step to building their relationship. Just their presence in each others life has caused cracks to form in their perfectly sculptured past, and I have a feeling that they will both be breaking down the invisible barriers around each others heart without even realizing what they're doing. Rather than having full blown conversations, it will be their actions that will bring this change, and by the time they both realize what is going on, it will be too late to turn back, their present will have already started taking over their past!
So this post really had a mind of its own, jumping from one thing to another, but that's the thing with me, once I start writing with AarYa my mind goes into an overdrive and I have to consider things from every angle which makes things super complicated. But I hope this made some sort or sense, and if you managed to read all the way down there, then kudos to you 👏😆
