Asin wants to do only commercial movies

Southern actress Asin Thottumkal, who started her Bollywood journey with "Ghajini", says she wants to focus only on commercial movies.

"Right now I am concentrating on commercial space. If in commercial space I get a good character, then I will cope up with that. But not deviating from commercial cinema because it reaches out to a larger audience," Asin told IANS.

"I want to stay in the commercial space...within that space if I get a fleshy character. I would love to do it," added the 26-year-old.

Her first Hindi film, Ghajini was a huge commercial success of 2008. However, her next release "London Dreams" with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn bombed at the box office.

In 2010 came "Ready" in which she once again teamed up with Salman and it was huge hit.

Now Asin is looking forward to Sajid Khan's " Housefull 2", her fourth Hindi film, coming out April 5.

Refuting reports that she is extra choosy, Asin said: "I am not the one who is in a hurry to do a lot of things. I think I have my own taste something that I am comfortable with.

"I do things in my own way and not under pressure. I have been accused to be extra choosy and I don't take it into consideration."

Your commercial movies have gone hit just due to your Co-actors not you .if you Asin enact with any boring actor in commercial movies, i bet they all would not run even in India.

Same can be said about other top heriones in bollywood.Except VIDYA none of the other Indian actress can make a film hit without Popular costar.

I agree. Atleast their movies can do better in India where as Asin's movies will go under drain. As far as i feel that she is least popular and favorite actress.

But thats only in India Forums.She Still remains the Most Popular Actress down South even after she left the industry before 4 years.Even in North India she is named as one of the Top Ten Most Popular actress by respected mags like Filmfare,Cineblitz etc.And also if u Visit any of the her most active FB Fan Clubs u would know that she also has many North Indian Fans.

Thanks to enlighten me. I never knew she is that popular actress everywhere.

A member said once she should've get the "Best Actress award" for Ready! still can't forget that statement 🤣
