Upset Yash is leaving the premises to receive his special guests who by mistake were neglected by Pratik. Pratik is trying to tell Yash it was not so but Yash is enraged and states he hates lies and I think that aspect of his nature was brought out today to emphasize on a fact that there is a big lie hidden on the widowed status of Aarti.

Ok so big brother steps in to calm Yash down and takes responsibility to bring his special guest before the ceremony. The brides and grooms are seated in their respective places and are waiting the arrival of this special guest. It turns out to be Arpita's parents.

Seeing them Yash's eyes gets watery and he gets up immediately to welcome them and pays his respects. His attitude toward them shows that he really revers and respects them and they reciprocal the same love and respect toward him. Payal and Palak were delighted to see their grandparents.

So the ceremonies started.. first with the grooms and later with the brides.

Mom Gaytri applies haldi to her middle son first then the younger..

Vidhibhabhi comes with the announcement that the ceremonies may begin with the brides… Mrs. Khanna applies Haldi to her daughter Paridhi but Shobha was stopped to do so.. In her chauvinist way Gayatri comes and declares that her guest will apply the haldi 1^st on Aarti.. Aarti and Shobha both are shocked and Shobha steps down and signals Aarti to allow it. Aarti was then told that the lady is Arpita's mom. Shocked Aarti looks at Shobha but she had no clue.. So Aarti just accept that haldi. Then comes the gift from Arpita's mom and they were the kangan of Arpita which she always wore no matter what and then comes the name change of Aarti. Everyone was shocked including myself with that announcement.. Aarti wanted to protest but was not allowed to speak by her MIL.

Yash hears her mother's announcement that from now on she will be called Arpita. He was so outraged that he went rushing to his room and under the cold shower. He was so enraged by the thought of Arpita's name being given to someone that he just could not clam down. He tells Pratik that he is not ready to give his beloved wife's name or any other her stuff to anyone… It just belongs to him and he would not share it at any cost.. Till now Yash did not say much in anything but when it came to give Arpita's name to someone else he just explodes and his anger was shown brilliantly by Gurmeet.

The same way Aarti felt the same that she does not want to lose her name of her identity and walk in the shadow of his deceased wife. Being the second wife she always will be compared to the 1^st wife and she always have to fight to make her mark in every one's life but to snatch her rights before everything started and put her under the shadow of the dead person is like inviting a ghost in your body so that you walk and talk like the dead… uff that is scary…

Like Yash and Aarti I felt the same that what the heck?? What kind of custom is this to bring the new bride and asked her to lose her name and her identity and walk in the shadow of the dead wife??? A person needs to come out of the shadow of the past and begin a new life with a new life partner.. Now what kind of a cruel custom is this to remind the guy of his deceased wife every step of the way???

But then Aarti accepted those bracelets and after washing off Haldi she wore them… It fitted her perfectly. The melodious sound of that bracelets were so much engraved in Yash's heart that he goes in the flashback to retrieve those joyful moment of his wife…. I absolutely loved Gurmeet's expression on that scene when Arpita asked him what is it and he just blinks his eyes and shook his head saying nothing… He was so natural and adorable with that scene.

He runs out to see where that sound is coming from but Aarti goes in her room by the time Yash comes searching for her.

So now enraged Yash rushes to his parents and voice his objection in a heated way that he does not believe in this old tradition and he will have none of this nonsense. Furiously he says that he will neither give her name or her place or any of her things to anybody. But than comes the mother of Arpita telling him that this was her decision and as he is like her son she wanted to do this so that the memory of her daughter will stay with her and the name of her daughter will be connected with him. She further emotionally puts the pressure on him by taking her hand and giving him the oath of her head that he will listen to her but Yash just walks out

I was really thinking about it…And two thoughts came in my mind..

1.. Either Arpita's mom is too selfish and does not want her daughter's name to be removed from Yash's

life

2… or knowing Yash and his grief about her daughter's death she is doing it to make Yash realize that there is indeed someone who is going to take a place of Arpita in his life and he better accept it.

So either he agrees to give Aarti Arpita's name or He accepts her in his life and let her keep her identity.

Looking at Arpita's mom she does not look like a selfish person as Yash would not have respected her as he did when she entered.. So my guess is that she may be doing for Yash's sake.

So let's see what drama will be played in the name of "name"

Thanks for putting your thoughts in words. I am kind of angry, first at Yash's comment. That he doesn't want to share anything that belong to Arpita, wonder poor Aarti how will she live with him in one room with such attitude, her pics all over walls.

Yes Jake I do agree that to ask Aarti to let go her name and take Arpita's name is just not right at all..
