| Jassi, of the once popular TV soap, has found a new haunt — colouring books |
Despite the popular serial Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin having gone off air, Jassi Colour Books are overshadowing better sketch-books. Inspired by the TV character from the serial and priced at an affordable Rs 25, the Jassi Colour Book is flying off shelves at trendy bookstores in the capital.
On page one of the book is Jassi in her pre-glam avatar — the clumsy, middle-class girl with buck teeth, hideous glasses and the works (only a halo is missing). 'Armaan sir', of course, graces page two. To beat it all, there are fancy captions describing Jassi's liking for Armaan. The inspired move comes courtesy Sony Entertainment and is published by Popular Prakashan. Earlier, as part of a marketing gimmick, Sony had also launched another self-help book for children involving Jassi.
There's little you can do but fume if your child dotes on the colouring book though. On the flip side, if the book manages to infuse some artistic skills in your talentless child, you can always credit it to Jassi.
