Chetan Hansraj might just make a quick exit from the television grind. After doing a special appearance in Raj Kaushal's Anthony Kaun Hai, the light-eyed actor has landed a plum role in Pawan Kaul's next project, also starring Dino Morea in the lead.
The film is a romantic thriller and according to Kaul, will be a launch-pad for model Sheetal Menon. To be produced by Nari Hira, the director hopes to set the ball rolling in August. Unlike his last film Sshhh (starring Tanisha, Dino Morea and Karran Nathh), which was a teenage slasher-flick, Kaul is now focusing on a mature drama.
Says Kaul, "It's called Bhram and this time, I have whipped up an intense love story. Just like any bachelor working in a plush office, Dino and Chetan bond well and share common interests in the film. But there are other strong elements, too, that I can't reveal."
Morea will be seen romancing the PYTs, while Hansraj plays the brooding macho man who comes to his friend's rescue when Morea becomes a victim of circumstances.
I'm not wicked
When quizzed about the role, Hansraj says he's happy about playing a positive character. "It's very different from what the audience has seen me doing until now. This is an out-and-out positive character." He is also excited about working with Dino. "It will be interesting. I have known him since the Gladrags days," he says.
Nevertheless, Hansraj continues to be the director's blue-eyed boy. Talking about his association with the actor, Kaul says, "I've known Chetan from the day when I was directing the television series Sshhh… Koi Hai. I was aware of his potential and that's why I cast him. Later, Ekta Kapoor picked him up for her soaps." Chetan shares the same feelings. "The fact that I have worked with Pawanji before, on television, made things easier for me."
Hansraj is surely enjoying his career graph. "I may only have seven scenes and a song in Anthony Kaun Hai, but it's been shot very well and I'm quite kicked about it. As for Bhram I will start shooting some time around August, and will be working on my look."
However, producer Hira refused to divulge any details. He says, "It's a bit premature to say anything. Everything has not been finalised as yet."
