Most of you liked bubbly Geet. Well I always envisioned her character as "Aaj Ki Naari" – Educated, Modern, Balancing and Mature who loves to live life fully and is fiercely independent with high self confidence. Geet's character is quite a key in this FF and will determine her behavior. I hope you will love the way I have thought of this character.

Also Maan lovers don't fret. First half of this FF is more about Geet and her emotions but second half is more tilted towards him. I won't disclose how and why as that will take the fun away but be patient.

Another important note is that I am going on vacation to India on March 24^th. It is my sister's wedding so there will be absolutely no time to update. I will be back in April so next update after coming week will be around April 21/22. I will try to give at least three more updates before I leave but no promises. Hope you will understand and remember this FF and wait for the updates.

Chapter 15

A month passed with both Geet and Maan settling in with each other. Maan still slept in the study every night sharing his thoughts with Poonam. Geet will wake up early and get ready before Maan wakes up and goes for his daily exercise. She continued her ritual of taking out his clothes in the morning and also ensured that they had evening tea-coffee together. Maan started relaxing in her company and also sharing few things from his office with her. But mostly it was she who spoke about her day at the gallery or about Vicky and other family members. Or she will sit silently with him giving company to sooth his loneliness at least for few minutes. They had settled into a comfortable harmony and companionship.

It was a week after their marriage that she had discovered Poonam's photograph in the study room. It had been quite unintentional actually. She was bored as there was nothing much to do. Daadima and Meera had gone out for some charity function and Vicky was still in school. Maan and Dev were in office and with lack of doing anything, she thought of finally keeping her things properly in the cupboard. So she emptied her suitcases and arranged everything.

Finally she thought of peeking into the study and noticed that Maan had left files and other things strewn on the table and bed. She decided to tidy up and put all the files and other nick knacks in the right place. She noticed that Maan's bed sheet was stained blue by an open pen nib. She took out a fresh sheet from the bed box and started replacing the sodden sheet. It was then, while she was trying to tuck the sheet at the corner, her hand grazed at the frame. She took out the frame and looked at the photograph of a delicate looking beautiful girl. She knew instantaneously that it was Poonam.

She sighed looking at the face of a very pretty girl with innocence oozing out of it. She traced her finger slightly on her face and said with yearning in her voice –

"To aap Poonam ho. No wonder Maan doesn't look at anyone else including me. Bahut khubsoorat jo ho aap. By the way thanks for keeping him company. I try but at least chalo koi toh hai jiske saath he likes to share himself."

Saying this she kept the frame on the side table.

That evening Maan was surprised to see Poonam's frame on the table. He picked it up to put it back under the mattress when he was startled by Geet's voice who stood at the door with a tray of coffee – "Rehne dijiye. Aapko mujhse chupaane ki koi zaroorat nahi. I don't mind. I know what place she has in your life and I don't want to deny you that. I only care for my place and have no issues with her."

Saying this she moved away and sat on the sofa waiting for him to come and join her.

After that day, Geet started taking care of his study and talking to Poonam became her thing as well along with Maan. She would share her pain, her hopes, her desires, her thoughts with Poonam the same way Maan will do at night. Unknowingly Poonam became a common bond between them.

Maan marveled at the way Geet had forged her relationship with everyone at home. She had integrated herself within the fabric of family and Daadima, Dev and Meera all depended on her from day to day basis. But even after that there was one bond which was very special. It was Geet's relationship with Vicky. Maan did not know if it was Geet's childishness, her enthusiasm or her maturity but Vicky was besotted completely by Geet.

Whenever Maan returned back, he will find them together. She will be either helping him in his homework, running around and feeding him, will be lying with him in bed narrating him stories or simply cradling him in her arms patting him while he slept. Though happy for Geet and Vicky, somewhere Maan felt jealous because before Vicky always ran to him and will share his day with him. But now, Geet was always around and he will share everything with her first.

He will still run and come to him, give him a hug if it was not too late. But he knew that he had already shared whatever he was telling him with Geet already. If he was too late he will still give him a kiss on the forehead but he will be snuggled into Geet's arms.

But then on the other side now he had someone new who always shared herself with him first. She will always smile and get him his coffee or place his dinner if he was late, chatting away merrily.

He had told her initially not to wait for him for dinner but as usual she had made excuses that it was because she was with Vicky or doing something else. He very well knew the real reason but also knew she would not listen so stopped asking her.

Moreover, Maan looked forward to relaxing and let his tensions from the day drain away as he watched her talking animatedly with all the expressions displaying on her face and eyes.

Yes it was just a month but knowingly or unknowingly Geet had become part of his and his family's life. Somewhere, even he had accepted her, but realization was still to come. Also, he had to let go of Poonam but then Geet was a patient woman who believed in her love and destiny.
