in defense of maansi

it is always my habit to justify the accused what ever way i can...so here goes my defense of maansi😃
i can almost see the frowns and the raised eyebrows and am sure a few will be ready to throw joothies, still if it increases the no. of replies and add to the ranking position why not😆😆😆
even i am unable to defend her completely in my mind, but can just understand the reason for her blabbering, though it is absurd to us who knows yash's character.
the foremost point is that don't most of us tend to equate what happens around us with our personal experience? say if u have fallen for the wrong person, wudn't u caution ur friend when u see her attracted to a guy? some of us may wait to know a bit more about the guy before sounding the alarm, but we do tell her to be careful or ask her abt the guy to make sure he is ok...oh i am digressing😳

so the point is maansi's view of marriageis colored by her own experience..her husband who cudn't wait to consummate marriage and had left her behind not long after that when he went to south Africa...newly wed hai yaaroo she shud miss her husband and feel left out... and shud be feeling insecure too. she is giving vent to her frustration with all her talks on marriage being tan aur dhan ka milan.
now in the photo send to Dubeys Yash looks more a college heart throb😍 than 'do bachom ka baap'...is it any wonder that maansi comments something similar on seeing the photo?
and when the guy does present himself, while his brothers are wearing bandh galas, he is wearing a sherwani that shows off his chest😍...of course yaaro he has to be different coz he is the one who is getting engaged..still can u fault maansi for confirming her initial thought that he is a romeo?
and abt flirting we saw that yash was disturbed by the light from the sequins and was casting quick glances at the sourse of that light...even there what does maansi see the guy casting spurtive glances at her friend😆😆..something which happens in colleges don't u think?
now what more do u need to establish that than the bee incident?😆😆😆 the guy who wudn't utter two words didn't find it difficult to touch Arrthi's waist? cud u really fault her to think the worst?
ok, so it was not mature to generalise or to form an opinion in the first meeting or by seeing a photo? but don't we too comment on a person's character just by seeing his/ her photo? wudn't u think a guy is interested in u when u see him casting quick spurtive glances at u?
it is well within Yash's power to solve the mis conception, which he knows Aarthi has abt him...all it wud take is a few words...
but we were talking abt maansi...
what i wud fault her with is her insensitivity to her friend... if she was a good friend she shud have guessed her all her talks were making Aarthi more and more scared and apprehensive...as it is she was not ready for the marriage...
i am not saying maansi is right but just trying to think from her point of view...
so come on , shall i start ducking from the joothies, tamatars ...oh no ande please i am on lent😆😆😆

Wonderful post Bindu!

And I see no reason for jhuties/tamatars or the forbidden andes 😆 as you are not denying the negative effects of Mansi's words, or the fact that some of her actions are wrong, but rather trying to delve into her motivations for being this way. And I think you summarised all the possible angles on this situation perfectly.

What I like about Mansi's character is that it is true to life. In real life, villains are never so clearly defined as they are in the serial world. Here, I find it interesting that the one who is causing most MU and distance between ArYa is in fact, Aarti's best friend. So I like the idea that a person who brings negativity does not have to be an enemy of the protagonist, or even actually have any ill-will towards them. Also, I like how they have built Mansi's character from someone funny and a little outrageous to someone who is quite abhorrent in her lack of good judgment, tactlessness and her tendency to foist her views and experiences on a trusting being like Aarti.

Yesterday we saw that dealing with Mansi is as simple as telling her to shut it, as Shobha did. And Mansi actually looked a bit remorseful so I guess she really doesn't know what she is doing or how much she is going on and on and torturing Aarti (and us) and needs to be made aware of these things. I would say though that she is not the best person for Aarti to have around right now though, with her lack of maturity and her preoccupation with her own unfulfilled desires.

Hey Bindu..nice post..😊

Mansi is not a bad char at all... whatever it is.. she at least does not have any negative feeling for Aarti 😊
Only thing is..she is getting annoying now with saying the same thing again and again..even if it is our best friend..if he/she is rambling on and on just 1 thing..we tend to shut them up too..😆

Bcoz of her one track mind..she is now drawing weird conclusions..like in yest epi..wasn't it perfectly logical, sane and "unperverted" behavior..when Yash ard midnight does not leave Aarti alone..but makes it a point to see that she reaches her house..safe and sound..😕 And what does Mansi conclude from all this..that Yash is Despo???? add on to it..forget doing something wrong..(well he had the perfect opportunity..) he doesn't even talk to her..😕 What Mansi said actually sounded pretty stupid...😕

What I mean is..CVs are unnecessarily stretching Mansi's char..what started as a naughty..teasing girl..is getting on our nerves now..😆 CVs should understand this..

@sam 🤗
i was expecting a full thread of bashing posts when i tried to justify maansi😆
u r right, maansi doesn't necessarily mean to create trouble...and i guess her constant 'gyan ' was needed to make aarthi tense and not being able to talk to yash...

nice post...maansi is not a negative character...but she is very immature & insensitive...she should understand aarti's present state as her best friend...in real life, we too sometimes keep our mouth shut thinking that it is not the right time...if she said those things only after the ''arrest fiasco''...i wouldn't mind...but she is saying the same things from the beginning😡😡

I don't think Mansi has ill intentions but a part of me wonders if she's a little jealous of Aarti or insecure about her marriage. Despite the fact that Yash is a widower with two small daughters, he's still a really good catch. He's good looking (😍), successful, and comes from a rich and respectable family. I wonder if Mansi is one of those people who try to make light of their own situation with jokes. Maybe Mansi is having problems with her own married life... it was interesting as to how her husband has not been featured since their wedding and she made a comment saying "hey he got what he wanted, and now he's gone". So now in her mind, she's joking that all men are like that.
