The cute and bubbly Delnaaz Paul, who won the hearts of millions as Sweetu Kapoor in Kal Ho Na Ho, believes that she is the luckiest bacha of God! "I believe whatever I am today is because of him. I believe he is always watching us and will reward us for our deeds in some way or the other. I still remember when I used to stay in my family house in Dadar, we had a maid servant. I took care of her children, interacted with their teachers and helped her with work. Then, she came upto me and said, Didi, I don't have anything to give you to express my gratitude, but I promise to you that every Tuesday I will pray for you and your success." Delnaaz was obviously very touched by this incident and believes that the lady was a messenger of God trying to encourage her to keep up her good karma. She believes that the prayers of the poor lady have worked wonders for her.
Many incidents take place in our life that re-affirm our belief in this supernatural being whom we may not be able to see but can only feel. Ashmit Patel, experienced the presence of this Super-Natural being. "While I was shooting for my film Banaras, on the outskirts of the city, we were to start shooting for a scene which needed a lot of special effects. However to our surprise as we were just about to shoot, dark clouds gathered, it started raining and lightening and it all happened so suddenly and just the way we would have wished. After 20 minutes as our shot got over, the clouds vanished and everything was back to normal. I shot there for months and never did it rain besides those 20 minutes. It seriously is astonishing and you got to experience it to believe it". It's true such a thing is difficult to believe and we can believe it only if we experience it.
All of us have different experiences with God and the faith usually develops in hard times. Manish Goel, the lead in Star Plus's Bhabhi, has such an experience to share. "I believe I have special connection with him. At times when I am happy or depressed in life I have special communication with him. Whatever I do is intuitional and comes from within. When Poonam was pregnant, I was doing Bhabhi, and for some reason I had to quit the show. Though it happened amicably, I was left with no work since that was the only show I was doing at that point of time. I had planned a new car as a gift to my forthcoming child and was extremely enthusiastic about it because I wanted to give my child the best I could. Everyone advised me against the car but my heart said, Manish go ahead with it, and so I did and I eventually bought a Corolla. When Poonam delivered the baby, I got two new projects in hand and Bhabhi also came back to me. I believe God knew that I have certain responsibilities towards my family and he understands."
Manish sure got what he wanted and he realized it. But many a times it so happens that we don't even realize how God is watching us and is there for us whenever we need him. Iqbal Khan, Angad of Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hain, who has been a firm believer of God since his childhood narrates a small incident of his school life. "There was an athletic meet my school was participating in and there was nobody to represent my school in the long run. My teachers requested me to take part in it just for the sake of participating because they knew I wouldn't be able to win as I had no prior practice or training. I took it up as it came to me and went on the field and prayed to God to be with me. There were three trials to it, in the first jump I made a foul, 2nd again a foul and the 3rd one to everyone's surprise I made it and made it big enough to win! This victory came not only as a surprise to me but also as a reinforcement of my belief of presence of God".
While Iqbal Khan has had an encounter with a miracle of God, Rajeev Paul, of the Nach Baliye fame though firmly believes in God prefers to take a humanitarian route. "I pray to all Gods, and have grown up doing so because I am from an army background. I firmly believe in the presence of God and believe whatever I am today is all because of him. There might be so many who are much more talented and capable of being in the industry than I am. But it's my destiny to be in the place where others desire to be. However more than anything else I believe in humanity and helping others. If I am praying and I see that someone needs my help, however small the help needed is, I'll leave my prayers and go to help him because I believe there is nothing like good karma".
As we sit back in life and reflect we are sure to come across innumerable incidents where God has guided us and supported us. As we have most of the stars narrating incidents that have re-affirmed their belief in God, the heart throb of the television industry, Rajeev Khandelwal says that he doesn't believe in God at all. "I don't believe in God, I believe only in karma. I have no problems with people believing in God and won't ever challenge their ideologies but I personally am not a spiritual person."
