Chapter 25

Next morning, Geet did a merry go round with Pari, expressing her happiness. "Oh Pari! I'm so very happy!"

Pari giggled along as she replied trying to slow Geet down. "Geet, calm down! I can see that." She succeeds in making Geet stop for a brief second before she starts walking towards the window.

Pari comes from behind and teasingly asks, "Someone's been hiding secrets..?"

Geet blushed and refused to accept. "It's not like that. Even I didn't know when it all happened. It just did."

"I'm just happy seeing you happy. And not a bad choice. Maan Singh Khurana huh? You chose a jewel for yourself!"

"Yea… he's my MK. Now don't dare drool on him. Or else…!"

"Hey calm down Geet Express. He's all yours. Now if you don't mind, care to get ready? Party times' are over. Got to get back to work na."

Geet bit her lip as she had forgotten that day off was only for a day since it was her birthday. She wasn't in mood to go start working again but she nodded knowing that work shouldn't be neglected either.

Dadi entered Maan's room and opened the curtains. As a reaction, he moaned and turned in bed. She sat next to him and pampered him. "Come on Maan. It's time to wake up. The sun's high in the sky."

He moved his head in her lap and let her ruffle and pat his hair. Silence followed for a while before Maan finally spoke up. He was awake but didn't want to open his eyes just yet. He wanted to stay in his dream land after a long time. After a long time he was having pleasant dreams. He was afraid he'll lose it if he opened his eyes.

"Dadi?"

"Hmm?" she replied as she continued patting his hair.

"I have something to tell you…"

Dadi answered for him. "Yahi na that you are in love with Geet and etc. etc.?"

He shot his eyes open, no more afraid of losing the dream. He sat up in bed and faced her. "How did you know?"

"You really think I'm stupid? I saw it in your eyes last night beta. It was evident."

"But how did you know who she was?"

"You need to look around when you go to someone's party. Maybe your dadi was present." She replied with a wink.

He looked down shying, realizing that he was so engrossed in his love that he knew nothing else. She continued, "Now get ready fast and take me to the office. I want to have a chat with Geet."

He nodded, a bit scared as she left the room. Is she going to test Geet? similar questions ran his mind as he got worried for Geet. He had heard about how there were certain things a girl should be able to do when it comes to Indian marriage and all and he didn't know whether he should be happy or not that dadi wants to meet her.

Pari yelled from living room, "Geet! Hurry up! I can't afford to be late to work. You might not work there but I still do."

Geet looked at herself one last time in the mirror and hurried down. "Alright. I'm ready. Let's go."

Pari stood there gazing at her, unblinking. Geet waved her hand in front of her but she still did not blink. "Hello? Aren't you getting late now?"

"I don't know. But one thing's for sure. Maan's going to fall for you all over again."

Geet blushed and giggled. Then she pulled Pari in front of her and pushed her out of the door as she followed.

Geet went to wait in Maan's cabin as they reached KC. Pari started her work as she had to finish the presentation designs.

Geet entered the cabin and saw dadi sitting on Maan's chair. "Dadi? What are you doing here?" she asked.

Before dadi could reply, Maan came out of the adjacent door and saw Geet. he closed the file and replied, "Hey Geet. Uh... meet my dadi." He gave a feeble, nervous smile.

Geet looked at dadi in wonder. Everything went quiet for seconds and Maan looked from one woman to another hoping for either one of them to speak up. At last, both of them burst of laughing. Geet went to dadi and hugged her.

"Oh God! How many more co-incidences are you going to give?"

"Hopefully, none from now." dadi replied as she gave Geet a warm, quick hug. Maan stood there confused. Both were talking as if they knew each other. But how?

Dadi sensed the question and replied, "Maan, remember the day I came I went straight to meet my friends daughter?" Maan nodded and she continued, "Well, that was none other than Geet."

He raised his brows realizing the coincidence they were talking about. Again, he too started smiling. He was complaining to Geet that day about how his dadi went to meet someone else first before him and that someone else was Geet herself! Seriously, all the coincidences seemed too good to be true!

Maan replied, "Well then, I have nothing to worry about. You both continue your chats while I go attend this meeting."

Both nodded and watched him go. Then, dadi turned to her and asked, "Remember the deal na? I know relationships have changed but deal is a deal right?"

Geet understood that she was referring to the deal they had stroked upon when they had first met. She nodded and replied sitting down, "Of course dadi. The deal is still on. I'll get to work from today itself. You just show me the place and in a week, it'll be ready."

"That's what I expected from you. And, uh, make sure he doesn't find out just yet?"

"Sure dadi. Now that I know who the stubborn person is, I know to keep my mouth shut. Or he'll never agree to move to the house."

Dadi watched Geet in amazement and her emotions taking the better side of her, she replied, "Maan made the perfect choice by choosing you. He's really lucky to have you."

She shook her head. "No dadi. I'm lucky to have him. Look na, he's given me all the love I wanted. My mom, dadi, friends and everything I ever yearned. He brought the smile back on my face. A true smile."

Dadi smiled at her innocence. Both were thanking each other for the happiness the other brought in their lives. The truth was: they were reflections of each other.
