Thank you for your comments and feedback.

I may be delayed in doing PMs due to workload so please pardon me.

Also, as requested by Cyberlife, I have written a special on Holi but I cannot fit it into the current track. So I am sorry that it will be little delayed and will come after next two updates.

On the plus side though it is more than double of what I usually write in an update so will either give a maha update or do it as back to back two updates.

Chapter 13

Rest of the breakfast went with everyone chatting and Geet playing with Vicky. Maan was the only one who sat quietly observing Geet interact so effortlessly with all.

Halwa was indeed very nice and at the end Daadima, Dev and Meera gave Geet gifts.

Dev – "Bro ab aap bhi apna gift de dijiye."

[Bro, now you also give your gift]

Geet saw Maan standing with his hands folded over his chest.

Geet felt conscious and said - "It' ok Dev…iski zaroorat nahi hai"

[It's ok Dev…there is no need for it]

Daadima - "Are zaroorat kaise nahi hai…yeh toh shagun hota hai beta…Maan?"

[Why there is no need…this is a traditional gesture…Maan?]

Maan unfolded his hand and started walking. He turned at the door and spoke with attitude – "Ab yehi khadi rahogi…gift nahi lena hai"

[Now will you keep standing here only…don't you want your gift]

Geet was very confused but as everyone started walking she also followed them. Geet was still new to the layout of the house and was genuinely surprised when she reached the backyard.

There was a nice patio decorated with flowers. There was a huge swing on one side and creepers climbed on it.

In front of that laid a full size swimming pool. There were two glass conservatories on both the side of the pool. One on the left was a fully functional gym and also housed shower for the pool and gym.

One on the right had blinds on and Geet could not see inside. Maan walked towards the one on the right, went inside and open the blinds.

Geet gaped seeing a large easel at the centre. Her legs automatically moved towards the conservatory. Her eyes twinkled in excitement as she entered a large wooden paneled room. It was similar to her hut studio on terrace at Handa Haveli and even had a similar wardrobe with art supplies. There was a pile of blank canvases in various sizes on one side of the wall.

Tears welled in her eyes and ran down her cheeks.

Vicky ran inside – "Kya hua tayiji. Aap ro kyon rahi ho….acha nahi laga"

[What happened Tayiji? Why are you crying…you did no like it?]

Geet wiped her tears and gave a watery smile –"bahut acha laga" She looked at everyone and said "Thank you so much for this surprise"

Meera – "Are ismein thanks ki kya baat hai…waise agar tumhein thanks kehna hai to Maan bhai ko kahiye. This whole things has been designed by him only and he made sure it was constructed well in time for the wedding"

Geet felt very emotional. She knew that even though Maan was finding it very difficult to accept this marriage, he was a caring person. She walked to him and said softly – "Thanks"

Maan heard her say "Thanks" very softly. But more than her lips it were her eyes which spoke volume. Since their wedding day, it was the first time she was looking at him directly and speaking like this. He felt a chill go down his spine at the love and emotions he saw in those light hazel eyes.

He quickly averted his gaze not able to take those emotions.

He did not respond to her thanks but said – "Woh Adi ka phone aaya tha mujhe kuch kam hai….I am going to office"

Daadima – "Yeh kya baat hui Maan….aap office kaise jaa sakte hain….abhi muh dikhaiyi ki rasam baaki hai"

[What is this Maan…how can you go to office…still muh dikhayi ceremony is pending]

Maan – "Please Daadima….you know I can't tolerate all this and I have important work"

Saying this Maan walked away without a backward glance. Daadima sighed but there was nothing she could do. She could only hope that her grandson will come around slowly. After all Rome was not built in one day.

Geet stared at his back as he walked away but then looked around her gift. She was happy that at least he thought about her and her needs. Somewhere she knew that this was constructed before he realized that he was still in love with Poonam and winced at that thought. She struggled but managed to hide from others, her emotions and the thought running in her mind "will he have done it after marriage?"

Geet got very busy in the rest of the ceremonies. As weather was very nice, arrangements had been done in the front garden under a white canopy. Khurana's friends, relatives and acquaintances had been invited. She smiled through out the day spreading her charm on one and all. By the end of day all were singing praises of badi bahu who was a mix of beauty, tradition and modernization. Geet being a very social girl had all aunties and uncles eating out of her palm in no time.

It was late evening when she entered the mansion again after bidding all the guests goodbye.

She walked into her room to freshen up before Maan came home. She gasped as her eyes fell on the mirror. She turned around and her eyes widened in surprise as she saw "Hope" hanging against the wall.

She slowly came out of shock and went downstairs to find Nakul. On enquiring, Nakul nonchalantly replied - "Bade Sahib ne raat ko hi saare arrangement kar diye the aur aaj Adi sir came with few workers from office to hang the painting properly in their bedroom while she was outside."

Geet was overwhelmed and smiled slightly at his unsaid concern and care. "Kuch kehte nahi hai bas kar dete hain. Chal Geet, ek aur cheez jod de apni to do list mein – unravel the mystery behind silence of dusht danav Khurana"

[He doesn't say anything but jut does it. Let's go Geet, now add one more thing to your to do list - unravel the mystery behind silnce of dusht danav Khurana]

Geet chuckled at her own thought. Since marriage, it was his first gesture towards "Hope" which gave her a new hope.

"Shaadi ke baad bhi, itna kuch hone ke baad bhi….he cares. Yes he cares. Kahin na kahin unhe is rishte ka ehsaas hai. He has shared his problem…his lonely life with me. Aur kuch nahi toh itna haq toh diya hai unhone. Now it is up to me to make best of this opportunity. Unhone apne dil ki baat keh di mujhse. Ab mujhe unhein apne dil ki baat kehni hai….nahi kehni nahi par uska ehsaas dilaana hai. I have to make him feel that he is not alone. That I am there with him….every step of the way"

[After marriage also, after so much happened also…he cares. Yes he cares. Somewhere he has feeling for this relationship. He has shared his problem…his lonely life with me. If nothing else, at least he has given me this much right. Now it is up to me to make best of this opportunity. He said what was in his heart to me. Now I have to say what is in my heart…no, not say but make him feel. I have to make him feel that he is not alone. That I am there with him….every step of the way]

Suddenly there was a new spring to her feet, and a new horizon to look forward to. His one effort had brought back the warmth and optimism in her again. For the first time since she took the decision, her determination strengthened. She was a girl of self belief and her belief in her love grew strong and she felt she could do it.

He has asked her time and she will give him not only time but opportunity and motivation to accept her and their relationship. She will not only dare to dream but also work relentlessly till she achieves it.
