Even Iccha did not believe her immediately right? She went back to her and spoke to her again. And after that, she went to the hospital and confirmed. Only then she believed. But Veer was not given all these chances to verify, nor did Iccha tell him. It's not like he didn't believe Iccha, he didn't believe the words of the mad woman.
