Still remember Dekh Bhai Dekh, Malgudi Days and other such classics on Doordharshan. Wonderful series.

Yup, yesteryear shows had quality which lacks in today's shows. As the writer of the article says, its not a artisan's workshop anymore but a factory that has to continuously churn out products (episodes after episodes) to remain in race. And to remain in the race, they bring in twists and turns (which may/ may not be logical) but are solely designed to momentarily grab the eyeballs. Logic, Quality is overridden by stating that they don't bring TRP (the FOOD for TV IND. to survive).
