watched the epi a bit late, and then after i saw the decorations in the room got this random idea so wrote it up!!
While Shyam was left cringing in the room, Anjali went over to get Khushi and Arnav. Khushi was standing nervously outside the room while Arnav was no where to be seen. Anjali went over to her and led her to the room.
Anjali: Come in Khushiji, she said leading Khushi into the now fully decorated room.
Shyam meanwhile was still standing there crushing rose petals and making awkward twitching facesđ¤˘.
He looked up towards Khushi with his preying eyesđĄ and when Khushi looked back at him disgusted, he quickly found it fitting to leave the room.
Anjali seated Khushi in the middle of the bed and covered her face with a red dupatta.
Anjali: I'll go get Chotay, she said and left behind a nervous Khushi pulling her legs closer to her chest as she sat there with teary eyes, anticipating the worst on a night that was supposed to be the most memorable one of her life.
Anjali went over to the hall and saw Arnav brooding in a corner.
She went over to him with the box of their mother's kangan in her hands.
Anjali: Chotay, she said touching his shoulder from behind.
Arnav: Yea Di.
Anjali: Since we have to make sure all the traditions are taken care of and all the rasams are done, I'm giving you these.
Arnav took the kangan box from her hands.
Arnav: Di?
Anjali: Chotay I know you don't care for all these rasams par mooh dikhai pe I want you to give these kangan to Khushiji. Ma wanted this to happen, woh chathti thi ke unki bahu yeh kangan pehne and that she get these kangan on the wedding night.
Arnav: Par di?
Anjali: Humari toh tumney parwa nahi ki Chotay, ab kya maa ko bhi takleef dogay unka kaha tal ke? (You didn't care about us Chotay but are you now going to hurt Mom too by going against her word)
Arnav: Fine di, he said as he took the box and headed to the room.
He opened the door and saw her sitting in the middle of the bed of flowers, canopied by hundreds of white and red strings of flowers. Her face was half covered but he could see she was nervous and taking deep breaths through the movement of her lips and the fidgeting of her feet.
He closed the door behind him locking it. He walked over to the bed and moved aside the string of roses.
Khushi saw his side of the mattress sink down as he sat next to her on the bed. He then moved his hands closer to her face and Khushi moved back a bit. However, he didn't stop and proceeded to slowly pick up the ghungat covering her face.
She was beautiful and there was no denying that. The wedding attire had brought out her beauty even more and if he just rewinded back to a few days ago, he would have been totally mesmerized by her beauty and innocence. But tonight things were different and despite wanting to look at her the same way, he wasn't able to although in his heart he felt like she was the same Khushi, the same Khushi that he had fallen in love with. With his mind in a cluster of thoughts, he looked deep into her eyes. For a second he thought that he saw innocence in them, but then his eyes were blinded with the image of her hugging Shyam. Anger taking over him once again, he picked up her hand. He took out the kangan from the box and slipped it into her hands.
Khushi stared at him wondering what all this was about. He had held her hands multiple times but today it was different. It felt like she was transported back to the days when they had first met and he would hold her forcefully showing no gentleness. Overtime she had sensed the change in his way of holding her, but today again he was back to the ruthless ASR he had once been, holding her wrist tightly as he slipped the kangan on.
Arnav: Don't think that anything has changed just because I gave you these. Di told me I had to because they are Ma's kangan, but I'll make sure I get these back when our six months are over. For now you can be happy that you are getting to wear these expensive khandani kangan. He said pushing her hand away.
Arnav: And don't expect anything from me, I told you before I will not give you any of the rights of a wife, you got that.
Khushi: When did I say I expected anything from you? When you can't even tell me the truth about why you married me like this in the first place, why would I expect anything more? I don't need anything from you!
Arnav: Please Khushi don't even talk to me about truth, you are the one who hid it all, the truth, you made all these cunning plans.
Khushi: What are you talking about, what plans? She said screaming for him to tell her where he thought she was wrong, she grabbed his hand as he was making way to get up from the bed. You will have to tell me.
Arnav: I told you before Khushi Kumari Gupta, I don't owe you any explanations, he said pushing away her hand from his arm. And don't think you've become Khushi Raizada, for me you'll always be the conniving Khushi Kumari Gupta.
He was moving away from the bed when he slipped on something on the floor and got twisted in the string of flowers around the bed. He slipped and fell on the bed on top of Khushi taking her down with him. He rolled on top of her and she too got tangled in the string of flowers. Khushi was below him and she looked up as her eyes met his. Finding him this close she was feeling very uncomfortable and she could hear her heart beating really fast and she could also feel his heart beating hard against her chest.
He tried to get up, but because he was so tangled every time he would fall back on top of her.
Khushi: Ek minute she said, as she moved her hands to his back and took out one string of flowers from under his arms and brought I back around his front and to his back. She untangled him from most of the strings but there were still some strings binding them both together. This time Arnav got up a little supporting his hand on the mattress. He took a string of flowers from across her face and her back and moved it aside. He then moved the last string that had tied both their arms together.
Khushi looked at him and was reminded of the time he had untangled her from the fairy lights. They had always been there for each other in one way or another. Once she had helped him in his time of weakness when he was low on sugar, and he had untangled her from danger countless times. But today, they were in this mess together, and only if and when they worked together would they get untangled.
(Arnav had slipped on some oil which Shyam had purposely thrown on the floor from a diya so that Arnav would get hurt, The freak couldn't imagine Khushi and Arnav together and he thought hurting Arnav would be the perfect solution. But unknowlingly he had brought them together once again đ!)
Arnav left to change into his night clothes, when Khushi's eyes fell on the box that the kangan were in, and there was a letter there. She picked up the letter and read it.
"Humaray chotay ki bahu ke naam,
Waisay toh hum yeh kangan aapko khud hi pehnanay walay hai, par apko ek raaz ki baath batani hai is liye likh rahay hain, dehan rakiyay ga aur savdan rahiya ga, humare chotay ki naak pe bohut sara ghussa rehta hai, aur dil main dil main bohut sara pyaar, ghussa bardaasht karna aur pyaar, pyaar sudh samedh lautana"
Khushi had tears in her eyes after reading the letter. She thought to herself.
Khushi: Ghussa toh hum sehrahay hain, aur sehtay hi rahengay, par pata nahi kabhi inka pyaar dekhnay ka mauka milega bhi ya nahi, jo hum sohth samedh lauta sakayein. Inki aankhon mein toh sirf humaray liye nafrat hai, she cried hold the letter in her hand as a tear drop fell from her eyes onto the letter and Arnav watched from the bathroom, with softened eyes.đł
