What if the roles were reversed?

Hey all, I think I already know what the answer to my upcoming question will be. Still, I thought, why not have a small discussion on this? 😆

So, currently, the Thakurs are dying to have a grandchild, Krishna's child. They think that Pratigya cannot bear them a grandchild, so they are eager to get Krishna married and have a child at home soon. They are teaching Krishna that having your own child trumps all, a person should have their own child in order to be a complete person.

My question is, if they are unwilling to see Krishna married to an infertile woman (Prats)... what happens once they know the truth? Will they expect Pratigya to stay married to their son, who can't provide her with a child? I hope you guys get the question.

In other words: Thakurs expect that Pratigya and Saxenas should empathize with Krishna's loss and let him remarry for a child. What if Prof Saxena said, that I want a grandchild from Pratigya, and since she can't have one with your son, I want to get her married to someone else. Will the Thakurs be so understanding then?

Please understand that this is a hypothetical question. The above situation may never take place. I'd just like to discuss whether a woman will be scorned when she wants out of her marriage if she can't have a child?

Nice topic sis !!In our so called society makes all rules all rituals r everything for women only if women is infertile so a man can remarry which sme if loyal and loving husbands like Krishna don,t bt majority do!! Bt if a man is infertile so they hide it and ever allow their daughter in law to remarry to leave their son!! Even if she says r utter a single word abut it they becme mad on her!!! Well I n kriya case Krishna never ever remarry bt something really going on in his mind!! And when thakurs will know the truth they,ll not believe and moreover they,ll blame Pratz as she lying this that bt if after so much nautanki they agree To it then they,ll never allow her to remarry even for that junglisss they may even can,t allow her to step out as they,l then only doubt her they r just worried abut their so called respect bs!!! Nt Krishna is different frm them his thinking his love is more than enough and pratzz tooo love him unconditionally 😳

hmmm... no idea what would happen in a Takur society... but in modern societies, the couple would prob adopt if the woman loves her hubby and doesn't want to be with anyone else
Or, if the woman really does want to experience a pregnancy & labour in all its glory (or should i say gory 😛😆) the couple could choose an anonymous sperm donor or someone from the family to donate ... yet again this scenario means the couple do not break up
but if she wants out of the marriage ... then most likely yes... she will be scorned... the hubby might be understanding and let her go but his family members may not be so open minded

Good Post.

My pov

If the roles were reversed, the Saxes or P would never think of getting her remarried. They may suggest other options like adopton or in-vitro.

Hypothetically if the Prof said that they wanted to get P remarried so she could have a child. The thakurs would never agree. To them that would be a disgrace to their so called honor. They probably wouldn't believe that K is the one with the problem. If P was to get remarried then the society could end up knowing the reason and thakurs will not allow that to happen.

What is this discrimination then? I know most women themselves wouldn't dream of doing such a thing, we're all raised that way. Women are not just expected to stay in a childless marriage, they are also expected to bear with violent husbands, cheating husbands, drug addicts, no-good gamblers etc. If a woman develops these same characteristics, would her husband be expected to continue living with her, or he will be expected to divorce her?

Shouldn't the solution to the above problems be part of Star Plus's "Rishta Wahi Soch Nayi" rather than the constant 2nd marriage issue?

That's what is irritating me. The family members expect the girl to be open minded when they want their son remarried, but not at all when it's the girl. Is it a girl-guy issue? Or is it a matter that the son is their son, while the girl is someones elses child?

Supposedly, If Komal couldn't have a child with Adarsh (due any problem with Adarsh), would the Thakurs want a 2nd marriage for their daughter? I think yes.

Maybe men are ridiculed more in this situation and so they hide it more. Women are expected to be more tolerant and sacrificing.

This other serial I used to watch some time ago, had the same situation as Kriya are in. Those in-laws had a horrible solution to the mess. To save their son and the family name from public ridicule, they asked the daughter in law to have a child with another male family member, and then claim the child is her husbands. It was a jaw-dropping moment. I hope such a situation never develops in MKAP. Thankfully our Prats is much more headstrong than that girl.

@bold that thought crossed my mind too but was hestitant to mention it. I don't think it will happen in MKAP, even if the Thakurs want because neither P or K will agree. Also Kriya's love for each other are the draw of the show and if the cvs do that the show will end.

In modrn society especially educated couples don't remarry for the sake of a child. They adopt a child if they like children. If the wife wants to go through pregnancy, they may get a sperm donor from one of the family members or from an unknown sperm donor. If the couples don't love each other,if they want to get separated, they get a divorce.
There are many other couples who do not want to adopt a child either. My own sister has no children. She did not adopt any children either. I know a few friends who have adopted child inspite of having their own too.
As for Saxenas, they might suggest adoption. They will never suggest Pratiga to get remarried.
As for Thakurs, they might even kill P if she tries to get remarried because of their so called honor.
Pratigya and Krishna love each other unconditionally, so remarriage will not happen.
