Rimi-Shaan: Too close for comfort

What happens when a hi-spirited actress meets a soft-spoken singer and his low-profile wife? Sparks fly. At the Zee Carnival held in London this year, Rimi Sen's friendly vibes and jibes with Shaan didn't go down well with his wife, Radhika. She stormed off from Olympia, (venue of the carnival) in a huff, making her disgust pretty obvious.
Says an eyewitness present at the meeting, "Shaan and Rimi were invitees at the Carnival. Dino Morea and the cast of Dharmesh Darshan's Aap Ki Khatir were shooting in London, too, and everyone decided to meet for dinner at a restaurant near Olympia. Rimi arrived with the Aap Ki Khatir gang, while Shaan was having a quiet dinner with his wife."
Rimi flirts around
Continues the source, "Rimi was in very good spirits that night. Initially, she started fooling with a good-looking Polish waiter and later she strolled over to Shaan and his wife's table to exchange pleasantries. Being a fellow Bengali, Rimi started conversing with Shaan in Bengali, totally ignoring Radhika. She kept murmuring in Shaan's ears, while he looked very uncomfortable and was squirming in his seat. Radhika was looking very upset. Then Rimi ruffled Shaan's hair and whispered something in his ear and Radhika just got up and walked out of the restaurant. An embarrassed Shaan ran after his wife to pacify her." When confronted, Shaan, the gentleman was reluctant to talk about the incident. He requested politely, "It's true, but please don't involve me in all this."
Shaan: It's true
When we mentioned our eyewitness account, he admitted reluctantly, "It's true that Rimi was a bit friendly but Radhika didn't walk out in a huff. She finished her dinner quietly, but it was when we came back to our hotel room that she let her anger loose on me. She asked me why I didn't retaliate or do anything. I told her I was helpless and couldn't do anything in front of so many people." Despite numerous attempts to contact her, Rimi remained unavailable for comment.
Singing with Shaan
Shaan has just come back from a successful US-Canada tour. He says, "Now, I will take up Sa Re Ga Ma again. People thought I had left the show, but I was completing my prior commitments. Next on the agenda is a Sa Re Ga Ma with kids from all over the country and another album after Tishnagi."
Shaan is beaming with pride. He's received a compliment by none other than Aamir Khan himself. "I haven't heard it directly, but apparently he told Lalitji that initially he was worried about me singing Chand sifarish in Fanaa but after he heard my rendition of the song, it has become one of his favourite songs and he liked the way I had sung it. Sonu (Niigaam) also told someone that he liked the song and my singing. To me it's a big compliment coming from a fellow singer."
