Akshara's Column: Make time for romance

Hi friends…Valentine's Day is coming up and even though all of you will be busy with work and other family duties and responsibilities, you must take some time out for your loved ones and show them that you care.

Lately I have been very busy taking care of the baby and Naitik too is always busy at the office. Naitik has also been sleeping in papa's room so that he can get adequate sleep ever since the baby's arrival, while Gayatri ma sleeps in my room so that she can help me with the baby. So Naitik and I have hardly been able to spend any time together. We miss talking to each other about the day's events. Even when Naitik is around, the baby often demands our attention and hence we do not get enough time with each other.

It is necessary to make time for one another in a husband-wife relationship. We should not neglect our spouse as this can lead to a strained relation. Making time for the other is the basis of a healthy relationship. Even though the baby has come into our lives and keeps me really busy, I will not let it affect Naitik and my relationship. I will try and give some time to my husband. It is not the amount of time, but the quality of time you spend that is important. Even small gestures like sharing a joke or having a meal with each other will go a long way in keeping the romance in your relationship alive. Naitik too is busy with his office duties, but I know that he will find time for us and will try and make this Valentine's Day special for us.
