The Valentine's Day began to be popularly celebrated in around 17th century in England

There are many legends of St. Valentines Day
but the CC's are going to share with you all
Legend of Saint Valentine of Rome-II
It's believed that Saint Valentine was among the early Christians in Rome who was popular among children.
During that time however, Roman regime was not in favour of Christianity therefore, all Christians were prosecuted.
Valentine though, continued to practice Christianity despite the strict rules. This enraged Emperor Claudius II greatly and he imprisoned Valentine. It said that, Valentine spent one year in prison.
During that one year, the children would send flowers and gifts to him through the bars of his cell window. That, the reason being why exchanging gifts and flowers has become so popular.
Others believe Valentine became friends with the jailer's blind daughter who would bring him the gifts and flowers from the children. Valentine would even reply to the notes when possible.
A day before his execution, he prayed for the blind girl and she regained her eye sight. It is believed that Valentine had written a farewell note for her, signing off as
"From Your Valentine" -a phrase popularly used to this day.
