Having kids amounts to a lot of added responsibilities. There are some who do not like taking on responsibilities. Some never grow up and some grow slow. By the time they realise the need to have their own kids it may be too late.

About practicality, is it practical to go on living anymore?

Having kids is nothing related to being practical or not!

But one can't dent that there can be no bigger joy for a married couple than having their own child in their hands!

Kids are the most precious thing a woman can have!

Plus if you really love your child then you can even starve yourself fir providing that kid with food!

It's not about the generation. A lot depends on how you think!

Well said. Agree. Those women who would rather have a pet animal than have a kid of their own can most probably not have a kid of their own to begin with.

I think a better name for this topic should be - "Is having kids ECONOMICAL anymore?" Because it's pretty much to do with the expenses of raising a kid, and there's not much "practicality" to decide about, unless you like to view the two terms, ie., economical and practical as interchangeable.

The only thing that will make me have kids is me, my preparedness. It will definitely not be governed by practicality, economic viability et al. If I am prepared to take the responsibility of a infant/child (biological or otherwise) then I don't think anything would matter. The only thing that I will consider is my ability to provide a good life. I would maybe consider my emotional / mental preparedness and financial preparedness to take on the responsibility towards being able to provide.

If I am not then nothing can change it, including alienating parents or putting their wish of becoming grandparents to an unfortunate end. No amount of emotional blackmail will make me change my mind.

It is the duty of every married couple to raise some good kids for the good of the Nation.

But India is having a problem of overpopulation so I guess there is no dearth of kids and parents.

Hmm Joe this has to be classified as a very long term investiment. Occassionally you may get some dividend return too. 😆
