All babies are adorable because of their innocence; baby animals too are very cute.
Love a baby's smile too. Except for monkeys other animals do not smile, but the do express their joy and excitement.

First of all.. you need to read the thread. This time, in its entirety.

So which is it? Did someone say or not?

It does not look like a question but if it is, the answer is NO. Duh!

Wow. And. Wow. For starters... this forum and its participants are presumably humans - the most superior race of all species.

Animals don't kill?? I don't have ADD. Look! A chicken!

Let me make sure I get this right. You are saying that it is a disgrace to be a human and you would rather be an animal. OK. Have you decided which one, yet?

Actually I once saw an old lady with a baby pug on her arm in a car park, there was a big grill separating us and I put my haand through the grill and petted it's soft little furry itty bitty head and it licked my hand and tried to crawl through the grill, it was sooo adorable!! 😳 It also made a smiling face where it's mouth was curved in a wide "U" shape.

But my new fave is a bullmastiff 😳

Yep adorable.
I think it is a young animal's innocence that makes them so adorable and touches our soul.
I wonder how the Koreans and some of the Chinese go around eating dog meat.
As humans we have to draw a line somewhere and set limits.

Unless evolution happens among animals and devolution among humans, based on current status, it is a safe assumption that humans are a superior or if you dont like the word then say most developed specie. God or big bang has made you special. Please resepct that.
Basic instinct of every living being is self. If you do not feed a lion for few days and then go near it and say I love you. Lion will say I gulp you. lol
No specie is bad. There is good and bad in all and that is most of the time due to conditions affecting them. Therefore no need to get disheartened in my opinion.

You can not understand , what you were in your childhood except you be a parent, Parenthood is again a beautiful like motherhood, Children completes the family.
I guess parenting is a relation, and not mere a duty. You can always enjoy this relation , the way you enjoy others like friends, brother and sisters, husband- wife.
Any duo normal, gay, lesbian can have/adopt child provided they will give him, comforable, healthy and peacful enviornment.
You can not say no to a life just because inflation is rising it's a non-issue.

I think superior is definitely an incorrect word here. We can only perceive or assume ourselves to be superior based on human advancements in terms of society, technology etc. At the same time we have to realize that this is human perception, on a larger scale of the earth, the environment or the cosmos in general we don't know if we are superior from an objective third person viewer perspective. Cockroaches are the longest living species and will most likely live even when humans are extinct, does that make them superior? Retroviruses literally kick our butts like a boss, does that make them superior? If you are stranded in open seas with a shark or in the wilderness with a pack of wolves, who's the boss in that situation? [Please don't bother answering if you are Liam Niesen]. But yes terms like most evolved, most socially complex, amidst the most intelligent are appropriate descriptions for humans.

Regarding God/Big Bang making us special, I won't argue about God making us special. I don't know much about God so I'll leave God's opinion between God and those close to God. As for Big Bang, it's a neutral occurrence that took place. There is absolutely no proof or explanation that the Big Bang made us special. Those who think God or Evolutionary science makes us special should not use Big Bang as an excuse.

Basic instinct of all species is self preservation, yes. But other instinctual factors and situation play a role in determining when self preservation kicks in. A lot of dogs don't eat their owners even when starving, even if the owner dies, some dogs will kill and consume an abusive owner. Even humans who find cannibalism reproachful go to extremes like in the case of 'Miracle in the Andes'. Instinct and self preservation is indeed intriguing.

@King-Anu: Thank heavens, at least someone got the humor in the thread. 😆 I don't think Big Bang is relevant here though. Our role in the world has to do with evolution and/or creation.

I think BI was talking about selfish desires, which - while partly true - is not something I can wholly agree with. "Selfishness" is ingrained in all forms (conscious?) life. It's a form of self-preservation, without which ones own life would cease to exist. But murder, lying, cheating are all human terms. When an animal kills another for survival or defense - is that murder? Cheating or lying requires a certain level of intelligence, and the usage of language or other expressions to mislead someone - are animals' brains capable of that?

Whether by chance, evolution or planned creation, humans have created a culture that is superior to that of any other living creatures. This is an undeniable fact. Whether we deserve to be "at the top" is debatable, though. Yes humans can be more selfish than animals, but they can be just as, if not more, altruistic too. Again, it's because of our complexity of the brain or intelligence level. Any living species (as opposed to individual members) with brains as complex and a culture as developed and diverse as that of humans' would have done similar damages or good to the earth and its inhabitants.

In experiencing extreme love the spirit grows and reaches a new level. Parenthood is one such, when someone is willing to sacrifice everything, selfless love.
God place love in the heart of the mother, so she is very attached to the child.
Among most animals such love is there only during the initial period and subsequently the mother turns them away.

Hetero-phobic, animal-loving, marriage-hating, kids-bashing pedophiles are on the loose again with their baby pugs and emotionally-charged rants. Too bad no one is buying them. Again.

Gosh, everything was going so good in this thread until a pug came in. Shoo!

So, a hard-U turn to the original subject. I guess the predicament has always existed regarding having kids. Mostly surrounding the economical situation and the ability of the parents to provide them a secure future. In most cases, these things are already taken care of.
In any case though, kids change parents' lives completely. Parents become so much more responsible...
