She might be a few serials old, but the enthusiasm and confidence she exudes find a few takers, yes, meet Mansi Salvi who is a familiar face on the small screen. After working in serials like Sati-Satya Ki Shakti, Aakrosh, Saarthi and Ashirwad, actor Mansi Salvi has certainly proved herself as an adept actor.
Although, she has worked in two Marathi films, unlike other TV actors who want to try their luck in Bollywood, Mansi doesn't seems enraptured by the glamour of Bollywood.
Mansi's career in the glam world took off when she was selected by a renowned ad agency for an ad campaign. "They were looking for a fresh face and they selected me instantly without any audition and screentest.
Soon after, I got roles in Ashirwad, Koi Apna sa, Saarthi and Sati. So, I made inroads in the glamworld smoothly without any extra efforts unlike others, who have to struggle hard to procure work,"says Mansi.
Commenting on the saas-bahu sagas, Mansi says, "These kinds of roles hardly come my way. I have always worked in serials where women are shown as achievers in their respective fields. I've always selected work intuitively.
I believe one should take only that assignment, with which one is comfortable and has a gratification quotient attached to it."
People who've worked with Ekta Kapoor call her a hard task master, but Mansi thinks otherwise. "I have found Ekta very supportive, in fact, when I had to go for my exams, she made the required changes in the script, so that I could take my exams peacefully,"says Mansi gratefully.
Mansi has no inclination towards Hindi movies. When asked about it Mansi says, "My parents never wanted me to act in Hindi movies.
They have done so much for me and if they expect something from me, then it comprises my duty to fulfill their wish. Hence, I don't have any plans of foraying into the Bollywood," explains Mansi.
Marrying Hemant Prabhu, the director of Aakrosh was the most cherishable moment of her life. "We met on the sets of the film and after four months of courtship we got married. Sometimes, after meeting a person, you get a feeling that the person is meant for you and I got the same feeling when I met Hemant, so you can say it was love at first sight,"says Mansi with a smile.
But, then how does she manage both career and home at the same time? "My in-laws and my husband support me immensely. My husband being from the same field, understands my work schedule and pressures. I love and enjoy every single day of my shoot. My work is very close to my heart. Also, appreciation of the viewers keep me in high spirits," concludes Mansi.
