i think that coz anjali mentioned that it is some family member,Shaurya immediately would have realized she meant his mother and brother. no one else in that house would do that. so he must have immediately disagreed!

I think Shaurya knows his mum is bad but to stoop to killing would be something you refuse to accept even if it may be the truth
