I was kind of confused yesterday why was jeevika so nervouse about wearing tht dress i mean the couple have slept together now so what is there to be nervous about. It's not as if he hasnt seen her legs or her sleevless i think it was a bit OTT.

Its not about showing sleeves... But the kind of dressing you are used to. Its that she is not comfortable with that dress.

It is all about comfort. Carrying the dress.

^^^ I agree with rightnow... She probably just felt odd about wearing something that she wasn't used to! Even very modern and forward thinking people feel uncomfortable when brought in front of stuff that they've never worn. I know the first time I wore a saree, I felt supremely uncomfortable with the little midriff that was showing even though I wear skirts and tanks and camis without a second thought!

LOL...there was this other show on Star Plus that showed a similar scene, where the girl started crying when she was asked to wear a dress...that I felt was over the top...so for me, in comparison...Jeevika's reaction was still pretty decent...LOL!!
And I guess it's just about comfort as most people already mentioned...she probably felt odd wearing that dress...although I agree that she has worn backless/sleeveless sarees before...so that bit kinda surprised me as well. But generally, I don't think she felt odd about wearing that dress in front of her husband, she just felt odd about wearing that dress, period.

They're pandering to an audience which is more conventional in its thinking, not just urban audiences but people in smaller towns as well.

And she's supposed to be a girl from Rishikesh from a traditional family. Hence she's naturally uncomfortable. Of course, she aspires to wear something modern, but is hesitant when actually given the opportunity.

I thought Viren bought it cos she was eyeing it. Makes me wonder whether she was eyeing it because Viren was talking to the other girl who was dressed in a short dress buying trinkets earlier. And Jeevika thought, "hey maybe if I also dress 'mod', Viren ji will like it!"

Personally, it's tough for me to identify with this line of thought - but I guess this might be true for a lot of people?
