I hadn't watched it for the past two weeks, and was catching up with the episodes right now...when I saw this topic. What a coincidense! I like this drama. Even though, I don't like Resham, she has done a brilliant job as Mumtaz. By the way, who is the girl playing Sanjha? Haven't seen her before.

And, Fahad Mustafa is in it, I'm totally loving his character. Hasn't been that big so far, but the few scenes he has with his mother and now his interactions with Resham and in the kotha are enjoyable:) The way he was watching the mujra...and then went home and didn't tell his mum a thing was so funny. I think he is falling for Sanjha.

Im watching it, and I think Resham is absolutely brilliant in her role to the core... The other girls at the kotha are also really good + Imran Aslam also plays his role well.:
I find the main girl, Fahad Mustafa and his mom a bit weak though..

Well, it's about a girl named Sanjha who lives in a village with her sister, brother in law and their baby. They are very simple people and haven't seen outside world. Her sister works hard for money while her brother in law is good for nothing, spends the money on gambling and alcohol. He convinces Sanjha into getting a job for 6 months in the city to help her sister economically, but in reality he sells her. She ends up in a brothel where Mumtaz (Resham) is the "manager" but refuses to do obey her. And then later Mumtaz finds out that she is a good dancer and decides to make her do mujras instead. Imran Aslam is playing Weeda who has a sick mother working in the brothel, and he befriends Sanjha. When Sanjha's sister finds out that she has been sold, she goes out to look for her. And then we have Dr. Ammar (Fahad Mustafa) and his mother who want to help women who are forced into prostitution and end up in Mumtaz's brothel.

uffo...not another brothel...which channel is this on...i will give it a try.

it comes on thursdays on HUM TV. Actually, usually I don't watch the brothel themed dramas cuz I find them too depressing...and the kind of language they use...but they've done a good job on this one. It starts in some place called Thaar or something...the place looks really simple and beautiful and the first few episodes took place there. The simplicity and beautiful scenery gave a different kind of flavor to this drama.
