After a 24-year-old jumped off the terrace to imitate Hrithik's flying act in Krrish, the actor in an open letter, pleads to his young fans not to perform such acts

A super hero extends a helping hand to the needy
Hey Friends
Let me start by thanking all you kids for reacting to Krrish in the way you have. It's beyond anything we expected. But let me also add, that this is a fantasy film. The action scenes are meant to be enjoyed, not imitated.
Please, do not indulge in these stunts. Those action scenes are dangerous. I undertook them under close and minute supervision. It required immense training, focus and hard work for it to be executed in the correct way.
And besides, according to me a super hero isn't one who jumps from one building to another or glides over rivers like Krrish did. A super hero is one who extends a helping hand to the needy. To that extent, there's a Krissh in everyone out there. I'd be happy if you kids touched people's lives instead of trying to imitate my stunts.
For all you young fans reading this, let me tell you about something I've not revealed to anyone till date. During the circus fire-sequence the hair on my forehead got burnt. Fortunately, it grew back before the next schedule. So, I don't think the hereditary baldness is going to strike me for a long time. What a relief! At least not until I do the third film in the super-hero series.
Oops…I have just let out my secret fantasy. But before I tell you some more about it, you have to promise to stop scaring me by trying to do my stunts in Krissh. Okay…getting back to my dream, I want to bring together all the characters from Koi …Mil Gaya and Krrish – Rohit, Krishna, Krissh, Jadoo and the super-villain too – in the next film.
Getting back to Krrish, let me reiterate that I did the action scenes with full safety precaution. I was guided by an action team of forty people and had been watching action films from all over the world to get a hang of it. But I finally decided that Krrish would be a unique super hero, unlike any of his counterparts on celluloid like Superman or Spiderman. That's why I did away with the thought of using a double to do my stunts. I knew if I took the easy way out and allowed a double to shoot the action scenes, my audience would immediately spot the difference, and the film would fall apart. I therefore took it upon myself to shoot all the action scenes. If you notice, Krissh's super-powers extend themselves according to the need of the hour. Therefore there's no end to Krrish's heightened powers. Let's see where he takes them in the next film.
With other Hollywood releases around the corner, I must say Superman and Krissh are cousins. They both belong to the super hero league. I see no clash between them. But that does not mean that you should try any of the stunts done by either Krrish or Superman.
Yours truly,
Hrithik Roshan
As told to Subhash K Jha
THOSE ARE MAKE-BELIEF LEAPS
On hearing of the news about the youth from Madhya Pradesh leaping from the balcony of a theatre after watching Hrithik Roshan fly in Krrish, Rakesh Roshan grew pensive. "I know kids all over the country have responded with unexpected enthusiasm to Hrithik's action scenes. But they must understand those are make-believe leaps in the air, certainly not to be imitated," he says.
The fact that his film comes at the same time at Hollywood's most expensive spectacles does not scare him.
"My film competes with the dubbed Hindi versions of M:I:3 and Superman. I can only say Krissh has raised the bar for special effects in Indian films," he says. "We've released our film alongside other mainstream American films in the UK and US."
But Roshan hasn't dubbed his film for English-speaking audiences abroad. "I think it is silly to hear Indian characters like a grand-mother in a village or a domesticated bhabhi speaking English in a strange accent. When Ang Lee released his film Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon in the West, he kept the original Chinese dialogue and put English subtitles. I'm doing the same in Krissh."
