Twenty minutes later, Rey reached his hotel room. After changing into a black vest and a pair of baggy pants, he dialed Swayam's number. It came engaged, as in on call with someone else. He shook his head talking to himself, "This Swayam! Always talking to Sharon! Not that I mind, but dude, there are other important things too!"

Swayam really was on the phone with Sharon. "So what did you make for lunch?"

Sharon replied switching the cell from one ear to another, "Pasta's almost done. Why?"

He teased, "I was thinking of coming over for lunch. But then, you can seem to make anything other than pasta. And I'm sort of bored of that'."

She failed to hear the tease in his voice and so fumbled while covering up, "So? So what? At least I know how to make one dish!"

He rolled his eyes and questioned, "Did you remember to add salt this time?" The last time she had made pasta, she had forgotten to add salt. Sharon grinned as she replied proudly, "Yup. Didn't forget."

"And red chili?"

Now she bit her lower lip as she realized she had forgotten. From the silence, he figured. "Hmm! You forgot right?"

She scratched her head sheepishly like a monkey and made a face that Swayam was able to imagine. "Now don't pout. Add it!" She quickly did and commented, "I was wondering why the color looked fishy."

"Now you know." He said cutely with a laugh. She was about to take it out in a plate when he said, "Don't you dare! It's still hot, can't you see?"

She was surprised he knew. She looked around suspecting that he was hiding somewhere behind the curtains. He said, "Don't look here and there. I think I know you that much to anticipate your next move!"

Sharon smiled cutely enjoying the moment. She loved when he did that. He knew her more than she knew herself. Sometimes, it all seemed too good to be true. But the next instant, she knew that it was too good and that's why it was the truth. She did deserve the best of the best after all.

She blinked away the thoughts as his scolding voice came to her, "Seriously Sharon. You should be more careful! You need someone to watch over you every second of the day!"

She said dreamily, "I don't need anyone. I have you na'"

He chuckled at her tone and asked, "Repeat what you said'" he loved hearing such cute things from her.

She then turned adamant. "No. Can't you hear it once?"

"It's sweet to hear it from you over and over again." He said truthfully. It was rare she ever turned into romantic mood. Swayam received another call and he cursed the person for interrupting at the wrong time. Then he saw the caller id which flashed Rey's name. His anger vanished as he informed Sharon. "I'm getting another call. Hold on."

He picked up his call. "Rey! Where have you been?" He didn't wait for an answer and said, "Wait, Sharon's on the other line. I'll put it on conference."

He did that and Sharon thought Swayam was back. "Who was it?"

Rey replied, "Me!" Sharon jumped down the kitchen counter in excitement.

"Rey! Where have you been! (Rey chuckled at that. Swayam had asked him the same thing!) Do you have any idea how worried I was? Can't you at least reply to one of my calls? And why are you quiet now?"

Swayam stifled a laugh as Rey replied, "I'll tell once you give me a chance na! and my cell just got activated this afternoon. I was going to call earlier but then was stuck with auditions you know."

Sharon understood. "Oh' ok."

Swayam asked, "How were they?"

"The auditions? Not bad. Finally done with them all!" He replied with relief in his voice.

"So when are you coming back?" Sharon asked.

"In a week or so'" he went quiet and hesitated to speak more. Swayam spoke, "Rey' are you there?"

"Yea' I have something to tell you both."

Both replied together, "What?"

"Actually' today' you guys won't believe' but'" he was mumbling and both spoke together angrily, "R-ey!" breaking his name in two syllables.

That meant 'kill the suspense, stop the rambling, and start speaking!' He shut his eyes and said super-fast without continuing to breath, "I saw Kriya at the auditions."

Both were hell shocked and too numb to speak up. This was their reaction to the big news. Rey heard the line go silent. "Guys' you there?"

Swayam was the first to recover. "What did you just say?" he wanted to make sure he wasn't day dreaming.

"I think I heard you wrong.' Sharon backed.

Rey confirmed to them. "No, you both heard right. I-saw-Kriya-today. It really was her. I was shocked as well."

After a pause, Sharon squealed high making both the boys hold the receiver a few distance from their ear. "No! I don't believe this. Kriya! Finally, it is her."

"Yea, tell me about it!" Rey scoffed.

"I can't wait to see her!" Swayam expressed.

"You bet!" Sharon said.

The words need not be said that she was chosen for the competition. None of them doubted her capability and her dance talent. The passion was one thing they were all aware of.

Just then Sharon's house bell rang. She knew who that could be and so said, "I have to go. Dad's home."

They all greeted goodbye and after she disconnected, Swayam asked, "So how is she?"

Rey laid down on the bed. He knew he didn't have to hide from Swayam and thus replied with generosity and full emotions, "Sad'.hurt' lost'. I ' I can't bear to look into those eyes."

Swayam tried to be as comforting as possible. "Rey, don't think too much. She doesn't know the whole story. It's just a matter of time. Please!"

"I know' I know that. But how am I supposed to face her knowing that she went through all of that because of me?!"

"It'll all be fine. Just come here. Once we all meet her, I assure you that.. trust us'"

"I do." He replied with a slight smile feeling better. "Thanks. I'll talk to you later."

He nodded and cut the call hoping the new year bring new sunshine in all of their lives.

Rose and Sonia had exchanged numbers to keep in touch. The next day, they decided to have a sleep over and get to know each other better. At night, she called Sonia's cell. "Hey.. I think I'm lost. I'm in front of the address you gave but this seems to be some sort of mansion."

Sonia burst out laughing as she got up from the couch lowering the TV volume and opened the door. Stepping out, she waved at the car. Rose got out and looked at her. Her jaws dropped as she saw Kriya coming up behind Sonia. She waved her to come in.

Still not recovering from the shock, Rose parked the car in the driveway. They exchanged quick hugs. "You guys seriously live here?" she asked to make sure.

Both looked at each other and tried not to laugh. They nodded. It wasn't new to them. Whoever came to their house reacted similarly. Rose's jaw dropped. Kriya spoke closing it, "Dear, it'll be better for you if you believe it as fast as possible."

She brushed her hand aside and said walking in, "Seriously yaar, this is a huge house! No no, scratch that. It's similar to some palace!"

Sonia followed. "Yea? Well, it's Kriya's."

Kriya stood there as glimpses of past came to her. Sonia turned to look at her when she didn't feel her behind her. "Kriya, close the door and come in."

She gave a forced smile and closed the door. As she walked in the living room, Rahul came running down the stairs and circled Kriya. "Kriya, save me!" he hid behind her as Karan trotted down as well. Rose stood there too surprised to react and watched the 'situation' in front of her. Sonia gave her an apologizing look for the boys' behavior.

When Kriya had enough of them turning her around like a toy, she yelled, "Enough!" both of them froze as she continued, "Didn't I tell you to behave? How old are you both huh? I really need to tell this to you both?" She scolded both of them.

"Upstairs, now!" she ordered. "And not a word till tomorrow. Good night!" with that, the boys disappeared just as fast as they had appeared. Taking a deep breath, she turned to Rose. "Uh.. Sorry about that. They were Rahul and Karan."

Rose smiled and said, "It's fine." Sonia started to announce all that she has planned for the night.
