Amitabh Bachchan was posting fan responses of 'Players' on popular micro-blogging website Twitter a few days ago. 'Players' an official remake of 'The Italian Job' released last Friday and stars Amitabh's actor son Abhishek Bachchan.
While promoting the film in London, the 38-year-old actor said: "He has never done that. That is why it's sceptical becausepeople accuse him of promoting his son, which I think is very unfair. The firsttime something similar happened was during Guru. That was the first and sadly the only time my father has praised my work. Myfather is my best friend and has been brutally honest about my work. When hesaw Guru, he was very emotional and moved. I remember that after showing himthe film, he spent the entire night talking about it. I then went to NewYork for the Premiere and he was so excited that he put out a full-page ad withsome of the text messages he received from his friends about the film. He didthat as a father and he wanted to say that I have always beaten you down aboutyour films and today you have blown meaway with your performance in this film and I am so happy as a father, that Iwant to express my happiness. The media just piled on to him and told him tostop promoting his son. Since that day, he has sadly never spoken about myfilms."
"It is sad that we forgetthat apart from being an actor and a beacon to the rest of the industry, he isalso a father and don't take that away from him. If any other father does that,it's fine but if my father does it, they don't like it. It is very sweet of himthat he is doing it now, said Abhishek Bachchan.
