For all the avid readers out there, which books would you want made into a BOLLYWOOD film?

My list:

1. Jane Eyre

2. Persuasion: I really want to see Aishu as Anne Elliot since it's my 2nd favorite Austen book and she's already played 2 Austen Heroines.

3. Something Borrowed: Would be an awesome modern day rom-com with a desi tarka

4. Northanger Abbey

5. North and South: maybe during the times after British left India and the strong class differences existed

6. Taming of the Shrew: Again, modern day rom com!

7. The Little Lady Agency

8. To Kill A Mockingbird: Maybe a Hindu vs Muslim version of this

9. 12 Angry Men: there's a black and white version, but a remake would be splendid

10. The Shining: Bollywood needs to make more horror flicks and sci-fi too, but let's stick to horror first.

11. Gone With The Wind

How about some desi works, like some mythology based books? Vayam Rakshamah, Parva, Yajnaseni, The Great Indian Novel, Mrityunjaya, etc.

I want a movie - in fact a series of movies - inspired by the Chacha Chaudhary vs Raka comics. 😃

okay this is my imagination going really bizzare but hear me out...

Id love an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's Two States starring ranbir and some other spunky talented gal who looks like a south indian...perhaps imtiaz ali can direct it...with all the humor and cultural references/jokes it would be gr8 fun to watch...

Id also love a parineeta-esque adapatation of pride and prejudice...so say the story is set in 1960s india, with similar styling and visual palette as parineeta (sephia toned, traditional clothing for women and slightly british inspired clothing for the men)...the bennet family could belong to a lower caste (since the caste system was very prevalent in india at that time)...and well..i can go on and make the entire movie in my head..lol..

another adaptation id love to watch is Brave new world...it would make a gr8 sci fi ish story without the regular cliches like flying cars and computer tech talk...
