Bade achhe slumps

Ram and Priya's honeymoon sojourn in Australia was a major boost for Bade Achhe Lagte Hain's ratings. The show hit TVR ratings of five for the first time recently. But after their return, ratings have slumped to the earlier 3.5 average. Though Sony is happy with the show's performance, it continues to be the leader in 10.30 pm slot.
Apparently, apart from competition from Uttaran and Pratigya which are massy shows watched in big numbers in tier two and three cities, Bade Achhe is an urban show patronised more by higher income group viewers. Another reason, according to industry analysts, is Sony's weak distribution in some of the high TRP states like Rajasthan, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
Life Ok share doubles
The makeover seems to be working for Star One which was quietly re-launched as Life OK two weeks ago. For the week before relaunch on December 18, Star One was struggling at the bottom on general entertainment channels ladder with a 3.5 per cent audience share. Post-makeover, it has almost doubled its share to 6.4 per cent. Most of its shows have rated between 0.4 and 1.1 TVR. The differentiating factor is not so much in content but probably the show's length and weekly frequency. While daily soaps on all channels are telecast from Monday to Friday in 30-minute format, Life OK's shows run through the week from Monday to Sunday in 20-minute format.
