Bollywood runs in our veins as much as cricket does. This is one entity we love to hate and one we simply cannot do without.
No matter how much we dislike celebrities and 'typical' hindi movies, we discuss them over dinner tables, tweet about and sometimes even get into serious debates over them. Not to be left behind, we thought we'd have our fair share of Bollywood discussion too.
We present to you resolutions, we believe, certain Bollywood celebrities must make. So read on and let us know if you agree.
Resolution #1: SRK should not over promote his movies
If there is one thing we completely disliked about 2011, it has got to be the endless Ra.One promotions we had to endure. SRK attended every reality show, endorsed everything from inner-wear to paints to jewellery, and appeared across media channels to talk non-stop about his completely ridiculous and wasted mega effort. While we love the suave & witty SRK, we hate the needy one. Hence we earnestly urge him to honour our wish of cutting down on the promotions and instead focussing more on the story of his films.
Resolution #2: Sonam Kapoor should act more and pose less
Sonam Kapoor's claim to fame is her wardrobe. While we envy her clothes & make-up collection, we seriously question her acting abilities and are yet to be exposed to her dancing talents. Usually stars meet and greet their fans at the box office every Friday, but our rendezvous with Ms. Kapoor is limited to magazine covers. Her lineage is one thing we are willing to bet on and so we would love to see her in movies more than we do now.
Resolution #3: Anil Kapoor must brush up his English speaking skills.
While Sonam beti is yet to unleash her magic on Bollywood, papa Kapoor, after enthralling Bollywood, has moved onto Hollywood. While we applaud his move, we are appalled by his English speaking skills. We have faith in his capabilities as an actor and would appreciate it if he worked on his dialogue delivery in English. We believe he can do better than he is right now and with sufficient training and effort he can charm Hollywood as well.
Resolution #4: Kareena Kapoor should stop praising herself
In the dynamics of this universe there has been only one consistent thing since 2000 - Kareena Kapoor's unrelenting self-praise. Usually, admiration is something others shower us with. But the future Begum takes independence to a whole new level when she constantly and continuously pays tribute to her beauty and acting abilities. While having sufficient knowledge of one's talent is a good thing, what you are doing Ms. Kapoor is annoyingly narcissistic. We urge you to stop talking before we get ourselves to stop listening!
Resolution #5: Abhishek Bachchan should never sing/rap
What worked once, may not necessarily work again. And Abhishek Bachchan needs to learn this. While AB Baby's first rap song – right here right now – was a smashing hit, we cannot endure being subjected to his singing skills time and again. We sincerely request him to stay clear of the microphone and stick to acting (or whatever it is he does).
Resolution #6: Kangana Ranaut needs to fix her accent.
There are few things more baffling and hilarious than a mish-mash of accents. And Kangana Ranaut seems to be the mistress of such a mish-mash. Her accent changes more rapidly than her dresses did in Fashion. Come 2012, we appeal to her to sort out and select ONE accent of her choice and then stick to it throughout. Now, this is not asking much, is it?
Resolution #7: Deepika Padukone should change facial expressions, not boyfriends
While we admire her beautiful face, we abhor its inability to emote. If Deepika wishes to be the superstar her character in OSO was, she needs to exercise her facial muscles and express what the scene / situation demands. While boyfriends and relationship stories make for meaty gossip, a stone-face ensures appearances only in gossip columns and not in movies. We hope Ms. Padukone realises this soon enough and works on her acting abilities than merely focussing on looking good.
Resolution #8: Katrina Kaif should stick to doing item numbers
If Sheila left us salivating, Chameli has left us panting through & through. Katrina Kaif is India's most googled celebrity not because of her acting, but quite clearly because of her figure and oomph! We hate to see beautiful girls making a fool of themselves and so we request Katrina to stick to shaking her hips and biting her lips and forget all about acting.
Resolution #9: Salman Khan shouldn't change at all
Originality is something we value, and so we value Mr. Salman Khan. That man has style, charisma, attitude, talent, and everything! Whatever he does, no matter how tacky, becomes an immediate hit and is loved by all. We give this man 10/10 for providing unadulterated entertainment and beg of him to not change at all. He is simply too awesome and perfect the way he is.
Resolution #10: Vidya Balan should finally lose that weight!
The Dirty Picture came, conquered and left an ever lasting impression on our innocent minds. We loved Ms. Balan's boldness and frankness in portraying Silk, but we honestly have had enough of that excess weight being shoved in our face. We totally disapprove of size zero, but what we approve of is healthy living and a fit body. We hope Vidya recognises the health benefits of a fit body and works on getting in shape.
