True it was, on 27th of December 1985 an angel did descend down on the earth. Her smile dazzling and her hazel eyes sparkling. She has ruled hearts of many millions. She is none other than Panchi Bora, a bubby vivacious girl born in a reputed family in Assam. Being the youngest of the two children of the Bora family, Panchi was pampered well by her parents and sister.
Panchi did her schooling in Army School, Guwahati and did her B.A (English) from Ferguson's College, Pune.During her college days, she had no dream of becoming an actor, however, due to her friends' requests, she took up the auditions for ekta Kapoor's first show on MTV Kitni Mast Hain Zindagi, she won the lead role of Ananya whose character is very much like her own. from then onwards there was no turning back!
After the success of her first show, she got her second big project which was Star Plus's Kayamath. Panchi's role as Prachi Shah gave her more popularity than Ananya as it was totally different from the role she played before. she got her first award as the Naya Sadasya in Star Parivaar Awards 2007 along with Jay Banushali and also the following year she was nominated for Best Bahu and Jodi award with Shabir Ahluwalia.
During her Kayamath days, she got many offers but did not accept them all as she wanted to be committed to one at a time. she didn't want to take a lead role in a movie yet at the start of her career as she prefer to take baby steps along as she goes. And hence, she took up a minor but important role in Anees Bazmee's Its My Life starring Harman Baweja, Genelia D'Souza and Nana Patekar.
Since she is a total workaholic, After Kayamath, she took up numerous ads to keep herself busy. This includes the famous coca-cola ad with Mr. Perfectionist Amir Khan who is one of her favorite actor as well. In 2010 she hit career high with award winning ads for Ford Figo with co actor Barun and also featured in a highly successful ad for videocon mobile with Indian Bollywood Actor Ritesh.
2010 marked her debut in the International Spectrum with her first International Russian Show 'The Indian'. The show premiered in October and has become a huge success in Russia. Recently the entire cast was felicitated by the Russian President and various Bollywood stars like SRK, Kareena, Yash Chopra and Rakesh Roshan.
2011 brought more surprises as Panchi debuted in telugu cinema with Aakasame Haddu which did very well and Panchi received critical acclaim.
Currently Panchi is playing the lead opposite Balakrishna. The movie will be releasing in 2012.
