Deeya Chopra's angst against her character in Zee TV's Mrs Kaushik'

To eject or not to eject, that is the question that is going on in the stunning and sultry Deeya Chopra's mind. Roshni Chopra's younger sister has got into this dilemma because she is quite dissatisfied with the way her character of an NRI bahu Ria Kaushik's on Zee TV's Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein is shaping up.

"I feel I can contribute a lot more ," she says matter of factly. "All the characters in the show are not properly developed. Each of them was supposed to have a sub story and not just romance and friction. The story is not coming out the way it was promised to me during narration. It was supposed to be a story of five different daughters-in-laws controlled by a dominating mother-in-law. It gets difficult traveling for an hour-and-a-half from my Yari Road residence to the distant Mira Road set when you are not happy with your work."

So has she voiced her discontent to the production house, Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, or the channel? Deeya answers in the affirmative, adding that they have promised to look into her concerns. She highlights that she has "decided to give them two months failing which I might be forced to take a call If I get something big. I am already doing other work which gives me creative satisfaction. My new Lakme commercial has just hit the air waves."

The low TRPs of Mrs. Kaushik are not something to get too concerned about Is Deeya's opinion. Says she: "You need to understand that Zee is going through a bad phase now. Had the same show been on Star Plus, it would have rated much better. cBut having said that this is just a temporary phase. We all know how Sony has suddenly picked up of late. At one time, it was in negative territory. "

She, however, clarified that she owes a lot to Zee TV. "They have given me my first mainstream commercial drama (Left Right Left season 2 and Love Story were youth shows) and they have launched my her elder sister Roshni Chopra as well ( Kasamh Se). I also have no problems with the unit either. They recently celebrated my birthday as well."

Here's hoping her role will get back on track and she does not have to resort to extreme measures!!!

She looks like her sister's twin, I was trying to figure out if it was Roshni or not, but I knew she could not look that young😲

Thanks for posting the article.

It was comforting to realize the people playing these characters are as frustrated as we the viewers are!
These characters really aren't thoroughly sketched out -- the writers have them behaving in ways that are incongruous to how they behaved several episodes ago.
For Ria to completely turn her back on Lovely makes no sense at all -- it makes her look like a completely shallow person with no loyalty to her friendship with Lovely. I don't blame her for not enjoying her character.
Gehna and Simran are coming across as one dimensional characters who have no ability to think for themselves-- blind followers.
In fact, Nimmi is the only one that makes some sense in the Bahus. Maasa has asked everyone in the house to not only consider Karthik and Lovely as separated physically, but to take them out of their hearts. Which is completely outrageous. Nimmi is the only Bahu behaving normally - she is having trouble with that.
For Karthik to remember their 4month wedding anniversary was completely unbelievable today -- this is a mama's boy for the longest time, has withheld any physical affection from his wife until she conforms to his mother's wishes -- and all of a sudden now he is an attentive husband who remembers an anniversary!? His character is all over the place. The actor playing Karthik must be completely confused by his character --
And Lovely -- don't even get me started. They have portrayed her initially to be sweet, loving, tells lies but for the greater good --- to showing her to be quite manipulative and dangerous (setting her sari on fire to get Karthik to forgive their fight-- talk about extreme measures!)
Today's episode was meant to be comic relief I am sure...but seriously. While I enjoy the general idea of the show, there are so many things that irritate me about it too.
I think it is because the writers of this show are treating the viewers as being dumb ---- it feels like I am being talked down to. Irritating...if anyone from the show reads these posts - you can make this show SO Much better!! Guarantee you, you will get a much bigger audience, please at least TRY!:)

Maasa is just a striaght up uptight 🤬

I agree the CVs are totally screwing with his character. One minute he is shy and all about Mommy and the next he is the best husband ever...what?
