Part 8

As they reached the hospital, Geet was surprised and shocked that they had stopped in front of hospital...

Geet (scared): Maan hum yahan kyun ruke hain??? Do u want to get something for someone??

Maan just held her hand tight and guided her inside the hospital... Just when he was about to ask at the reception about the injured people, Geet saw her mother and Daadima sitting down in the corner of the corridor...

Geet: Maan... Maa aur Daadima yahan kyun hain??? Maan dekho naa...

Maan too notices them and holds her hand tight and leads her way to the ladies... Just when Rano sees them she breaks down completely... Maan rushes towards Rano leaving behind Geet... Geet is all shocked and confused to what all is happening around her... She is more into a state of shock and not ready to accept what her inner self is trying to tell her... Maan tries to ask Daadima about what all happened but sees that even she is too shocked to react... He being still not aware of the entire situation tries to know about it...

Maan: Rano maa... Mujhe dekhiye... Main hoon yahan... Geet is here too... Daadima... Mujhe bataiye kya hua hai??? I have to know naa... Look at me... Please tell me what happened...

He notices Geet standing at the end of the corridor where he left her... He understands that she is too shocked to react to anything... He guides her way to the other two ladies and makes her sit besides them... Three of them are not ready to speak out anything and this is not anyway helping out in analysisng the situation...

Maan (trying to make Daadima or Rano speak): Please someone has to tell me what has happened... I am telling u, nothing will go wrong... Please tell me whats going on???

Maan (now screaming to get things out from Geet's mother and Daadi): Yaar this is too much... Atleast tell me something...

Meanwhile a doctor puts his hand on Maan's shoulder and asks him to come to his cabin...

Doctor: Are u related to Rajveer Khurana or Mohinder Handa???

Maan (immediately): I am Maan Singh Khurana... Son of Rajveer Khurana... Will u please tell me whats going on here???

Doctor (making Maan sit down on the chair): Look Maan... Ur father and Mr.Mohinder Handa have met with a severe accident... They are both critical and fighting for their lives... We are trying our best to save their lives but nothing can be said as of now... I cant assure you of anything... They both have suffered from head injuries as well as multiple injuries... I have seen the rest of your family's condition and want you to take care of them... Here me and my entire team will take care of the injured... I will keep you informed with time... Just keep praying because blessings and prayers can make miracles...

Maan is shocked to learn about all this but understands that he has to be the pillar of strength for both the families now... He asks the doctor to keep him informed of everything...

He returns to the three other family members and tries to take the situation in control...

Rano and Daadi: Maan, kya kaha doctor ne??? What did he say??? Will u tell us whats going on inside??? Maan say something son...

Maan (making both of them sit): Abhi kuch bhi nahi kaha hai unhone... Things are still critical and we have to pray for them... Aap dono please itna to kar sakte hain na... And try being strong... Crying wont help the situation we are in... Lets pray that this problem is solved without difficulty...

At the same time a nurse comes out and calls for Maan asking him to meet the doctor in his cabin... Rano, Daadi and Maan panic a little but Maan asks them to settle down while he goes inside...

Doctor: Maan, Mohinder Handa has lost lot of blood and has suffered from some severe head injuries... I am sorry to inform u but he won't be here for long... We did try our best but he is losing it... He is not able to respond to the treatment... But he seems to say something repeatedly... He is calling for Geet... Geet is I guess his daughter... He wants to meet her...

Maan: But doctor I am sure there is something which can be done... Don't worry about the money... Just get the best doctors from across the globe but do something... Technology has advanced so much... Kuch to ho sakta hoga... Kuch to..???

Doctor: We have tried everything Maan... But its just that he is not responding to the treatment... His situation is becoming worse and he is in lot of pain... He wants to talk to her... Please do that soon...

Maan (dejectedly): Yes doctor...

At the same time, a nurse comes up running to the doctor's cabin...

Nurse: Doctor, the other patient in the ICU has suddenly started breathing unevenly... He has started gaining consciousness... Please see him soon...

Maan: Doctor, that's my dad right... Hows he???

Doctor: Maan relax... I will go and see him... U make Geet meet her father... The nurse will guide Geet to him... I will go and see Mr.Rajveer...

Maan comes out of the doctor's cabin... He finds the two ladies praying to God in front of the small temple in the hospital whereas Geet sat all lost still on the chair where she was since the time she came to the hospital... She was still not aware of anything and too shocked to respond... Maan goes to her and holds her hands...

Maan: Mishti, listen to me... Uncle is calling u... He wants to see you... He is not well and has suffered from some injuries due to the accident... But he wants to talk to u... You are listening to me aren't u???

Geet looks at him all lost and nods her head...

Maan: So go and meet him... He will feel better talking to u... And be a strong girl...

Geet (softly): Maan, Dad will be fine na??? He is alright na??

Maan: Mishti, go and meet him... Lets not waste time... The nurse will take you to him...

Geet: Maan, why aren't u taking me to him??? Hum saath mein chalte hain na... I have to tell dad what plans u executed for my birthday... I have to tell him that he is forgiven for forgetting my birthday but next year he has to remember it... Chalo lets go together...

Maan: Mishti, abhi u have to go alone... I am waiting for u right here...

Geet: Sab theek hai na??? Tell me everything is fine once...

Maan: Go Mishti... Uncle is waiting for u...

Geet follows the nurse still unaware that it's the last time she was going to meet her dad...

After sometime when Geet didn't return Maan starts to get worried about her... But then the doctor calls him to his cabin again...

Doctor: Maan, I am sorry to inform u that we have lost both Mohinder Handa and Rajveer Khurana... We tried our best but we couldn't save them... Geet is still with her father and not ready to leave him... I guess you should inform the other members of your family about it... I am sorry son... I am so sorry for ur loss... Here are the belongings of both of them...

Maan holds the things of his role models in his hands and comes out... Still not able to get the fact that his father and father like uncle are no more... He and Geet have been left alone by their fathers, their heroes...

So here is another update and I don't know how I am in complete flow of updates... The story is going through a sad phase and I hope I could express the feelings throught he writing...
