39. Victorious
Maan couldn't concentrate on work since morning, since someone was miffed with him. a smile stretched across his lips as he thought of his wife. He knew she was perplexed about his behaviour. It was amusing to rattle her. But now being away from her, he wondered if Geet even understood what he wanted from her. He looked the photograph of hers kept in his desk, the one taken by Rudr in the garden. The sweetness and innocence of her smile adding to her unique beauty. In spite of all she had been thru she was still unaware of the games of attraction between man and woman. Her body was still unawakened to the pleasures of love. Did she even understand that he was deliberately teasing her senses? He touched her face. Aah! My sweet innocent, why did I forget that you don't even know how to flirt? How will you understand what I expect from you when all this is new to you? How will you know what I expect of you when you don't even realize the sweet pain I go thru each day, the restraint I force upon myself in the fear that my love might frighten you away. But you love me and you have started to desire me...so we will fight this together my love, ...your memories, your fears... Your desire for me, ignited by our love will burn away the past. I want you to realize that what is happening between us is an expression of our love for each other, there is nothing frightening in it. You should know I will never force you, each step we move forward will be with your acceptance, your consent. Yes I know, you want me to kiss you again, I too want that desperately. But then my love, it should be your decision... May be you could kiss me...
He chuckled remembering her outrage at his teasing her about the book...and did she have a temper when riled...her face taking an angry color, her eyes spiting fire as she threw the pillow at him...he laughed out loud. His kitten was starting to develop claws! The wish to see her intensified. May be he could just take a detour on his way to the site visit...
If she didn't get that kiss she will definitely go crazy. Why else was she imagining him around every time. She could hear his voice calling her from the bedroom. She was becoming daft, how can he call her when he was in the office? Babaji! Kuch karo. Kuch toh Maan ko samjao. She was still blabbering to Babaji, as she entered the bedroom from the restroom. She took the towel of her hair to shake it free, sprinkling water around. With her eyes closed, she didn't notice the person waiting for her to come out of the rest room, getting sprinkled with droplets of water from her wet hair as he moved closer to her. She threw back her hair with a slight tilting of her head and the curls caught him across the face. His sharp in drawn breath alerted her to his presence and she turned back sharply to collide with him. He caught her in the circle of his arms. With her eyes closed, she held his shoulder for support. Then she raised a hand to touch his face as if trying to make sure he was not a figment of her imagination.
"Maan, you are here?" there was a happy surprise in her voice.
"I left an important file here. Thought I would get it while I am on the way to the site." He said softly, a dreamy quality to his voice.
His hand moved to slide away the locks of hair that clung to her face. The expression in her eyes and the dreamy smile on her lips enchanted him. The hand that tucked her hair behind her ear, played with the whorls of her ear. She tilted her head giggling as his fingers tickled. He leaned in to nuzzle the curve of her neck and said in a husky voice, "You smell so enticing Geet..."
Goosebumps erupted in her arms and she shivered in response he slid his hand along her jaw to tilt her face to peer into her eyes. She saw the fire that sizzled in his eyes as he brushed his thumb across her lips, making her lips part in response. Her eyes clouded with desire. In all her life she had never felt anything so intense, so overpowering as as their closeness. She held her breath in anticipation.
"I should be going now," he cleared his throat to free it from the passion that made it husky and let his hands drop after a pat on her cheek. It took all his will power not to respond to the obvious welcome in her eyes. Confusion and disappointment replaced her expression in her eyes.
"Bye Geet." he moved to turn away only to be stopped by Geet's hold on his waistcoat. He looked at her hand and then to her face, which now held a mixture of determination and request. The blush that stained her cheeks spoke of the embarrassment her boldness was costing her.
"Do you need something Geet?"
He asked gently. She held his eyes for a moment as she said, "you know,..." Then took another moment with her eyes closed before her words came in the softest of whispers, " Maan please..."
Yes he knew...he smiled. Now her boldness deserved a reward, didn't it? He considered before leaning to touch his lips to hers in the briefest of kiss before moving back. Her eyes flew to his. The confusion and disappointment etched in them made it difficult for him to hold back his chuckle.
"What happened Geet? Why so disappointed?"
She just shook her head, looking down. He tilted her head to make her look at him and enticed silkily, "Why don't you kiss me then ...the way you want to be kissed..." Her eyes widened in shock. "You know you want to..." his voice was pure temptation and a tremor ran down her. Her gaze dropped to his mouth, just inches away. Maan wanted her to kiss him and she wanted to, oh so desperately, to feel what she had experienced that first time.
"All right I'll keep my eyes closed if you want me too..." his words were a beautiful enchantment.
She yearned to know if what she had felt could be repeated, she hungered to feel that overwhelming pleasure. That yearning filled her with courage.
"Geet"
Her name was a mere whisper from his lips, but it held for her such temptation, such promise and gave her such confidence. She leaned up to place her hands on his shoulders for support and touched her lips to his. The brush of her lips against his was like a stroke of flame and she caught her breath in wonder. She pulled back a bit to look at him sharply, wondering if he too felt the same. The lure of those magnetic eyes were as beautiful as a silver thread and as strong as steel. Soundlessly her lips formed his name and driven by a force stronger than conscious will she closed the gap and pressed her mouth to his again.
The fingers threaded thru her wet strands to clasp the back of her head to support her as he took over the kiss and the world went up in flames. Everything became a sensation as he supped on her lips, brushing them with his own and softly nipping with his teeth. When his tongue teased along the line of her lips they parted instantly allowing him entrance and it was just like before, more so. He tilted her head further back and deepened the embrace as he drank in the taste and feel of her. She clung to him, her mind spinning, her body growing warm, malleable. A muffled moan came from deep within his chest, sounding like a mixture of pain and pleasure. Her hand curled into the softness of his waistcoat, to hold on as the world spun. His hands tightened on her, as the need to take more intensified. He fought to slow down, to be in control.
The abrupt shrill of his phone broke into their sensuous world, jerking them apart.Her heart thumping crazily and breathing as if she had run a marathon, Geet took a step back and simply stared up at him.
" Don't look at me like that!" Maan groaned helplessly as he cut the call automatically. And her lashes dropped obediently, the color hightened in her cheeks. He cupped her face in his hands and tipped it up again. "No, look at me any way you like. Don't hide yourself from me." He brought his forehead down to rest them against hers.
The phone rang again and with a sigh he attended the call. "Yes, Adi I'll just be down." Putting the phone back in his pocket, he looked at Geet and said, "I need to go now..."
The wonder was still alive in her eyes. He engulfed her in his arms for another tight hug. Releasing her he ran his finger along her cheek. "Bye Mrs. Khurana...miss me" he said softly before walking away.
