After a few days, all the Raizadas went to the Gupta's, to talk about few wedding preparations. Aakash wanted to take Payal out. Khushi, on not seeing Arnav anywhere, felt a little disappointed. She wanted to know about him, but not knowing what to ask and to whom, she decided to keep quiet for her own good.

But Payal, knowing what might be going on in her sister's mind, asked "Di. . Wo. . Your brother??"

"Oh. . Chotey? He has gone to Paris. . . There has been an emergency in one of our branches there. . ." Anjali's voice showed her concern. Shyaam consoled his wife, "Rani Saheba. . . It isn't such a big problem. . ."

"There's no hope from you guys. . You never let us know what the problem is. . . Especially Chotey. . . He has always been like that. . ."

It suddenly became unbearable for Khushi, to sit there and listen about him, when she wanted to see him badly. . . She silently entered her room, and sat in front of her laptop. She had nothing much to do, as her exams were over, and she didn't really have any work until her next semester started. She started googling about the person she wanted to see. Yes. His whole family was sitting in her living room. And she was using the universal knowledgeable friend, "THE" Google!

It wasn't much useful, though. She soon realized that, whatever information she got there had no truth in it, at all! The person she knew was totally different than the ASR depicted there.

She snapped her laptop shut, as Payal entered the room. "What happened??" Payal asked her. Khushi, who herself didn't know what was happening, asked, "What happened??"

"Khushi. . He's a very busy man. May be he forgot to tell you in his hurry. . You heard what Di said. It was an emergency. ."

"Jiji. . I don't understand why you're telling, what you're telling. . Why would I bother about his schedule?? You don't worry about that "BUSY BUSINESSMAN" now. Go and spend some time with your future family. ." Khushi cut her sister, as she left the room.

"This is exactly what I told you about, Khushi.. And yet, you're fighting it!!" Payal helplessly told to herself.

It had been three weeks now. Khushi had joined some professional course which would be a plus point to add, in her resume. She had mainly joined it to keep her mind busy, so that it didn't wander to "HIM". . . .

The institute which taught that was nearby her college, and it took most of her day. And as if a mirror to her state of mind from the past three weeks, it rained for the whole day. She had finished her class, and stood waiting for the bus, holding an umbrella against the slight drizzle.

A black Mercedes pulled up on the other side of the road, and Khushi bent her head to change the song on her iPod. She felt someone watching her intently, and when she lifted her head, she saw Arnav beckoning her, sitting in his car.

Her mouth fell open, and a smile was about to form on her lips, when she remembered she was very angry on him. VERY angry!! She shut her open mouth, and angled her umbrella in such a way that her face wouldn't be visible to him, and stood watching her feet.

The past few weeks had drained him. He was exhausted. But when he had seen her, his energy somehow had revived. Arnav didn't understand her reaction. He had thought that a few things had changed between them. At least his mind, which constantly thought of her for the past few weeks, had told him so! He had missed the genuine smile she reserved for a very few people, an honor he thought, that he had achieved! Right now, he felt her indifference was too much to take.

She hid her face, stealing the source of his calm mind. And his patience went out of the window. He quickly got out of the car, not minding the drizzle, and crossed to the other side of the road, where she was standing.

A minute like that, and she then saw his shoes next to her feet. She still didn't bother to look at him, suddenly afraid that she might yell at him and create a scene. But unfortunately, the light drizzle turned into a proper pouring. She involuntarily, took him under the umbrella. He was too tall, she realized. She silently pointed that he should hold it. He took it, an amused look on his face, as he realized his irritation had gone away, since her face was now visible to him.

He just stared at her face, through his eyelashes, a small smile on his lips, as he stood there, waiting for her to react in anyway. They were standing too close, and he rather felt, than see her shivering as a cold draught passed their way, making him realize that she was wearing a white cotton top with a pair of black jeans. He was about to suggest that they sit in the comfortable warmth of his car, when she spoke to him. No, accused him. "You were gone. . ."

Her voice told him so many things that he wanted to know, whether she had missed him too, whether she wanted to see him, as much as he wanted to see her. Again his brain seemed to be hay-wired in a random way, making him see her as an angry child! "It was really an emergency, child. . ." he said.

She pointed a finger to him, and said through gritted teeth "Don't. You. CHILD. me!!", and she shivered once again.

He silently held her elbow and pulled her towards the car. May be she wasn't expecting this, and was too shocked; she came with him without a fight.

When they sat in his car, and he had turned on the heater, Arnav turned to her fully, and asked, "A whole branch of my company was at stake. . . You may think it's a very poor excuse. . . "

Khushi sighed once, realizing she wasn't actually angry on him anymore. She couldn't handle the 180^o swing her moods were taking. And all because of him!! She needed to be alone, as she said, "Can I go?"

He lost it then. She still wasn't ready to understand. "You want to go." He managed to mutter.

She nodded.

He bent and opened her side of the door, and sat properly in his seat, clutching the steering wheel tightly in his hands. She stared at him, not sure of what she should do. "Out!!" he muttered.

He had finally lost his temper on her, she realized, as she scurried out of the car, tripping in her hurry. Her umbrella was in the back seat of his car, where he had kept it, and so, she was completely wet by the time she reached home.

Garima made her drink some strong liquid. Normally, Khushi would have made a big deal of it. But today, she didn't even notice the strong stench of it, as she gulped it down, in 3 large gulps, and slept off. At least she pretended to. Because she knew that Payal would have guessed that something was off. And when she was sure Payal had slept, she quietly opened the window, and sat staring out of it.

He had a reason to be angry at her, she justified to herself. And why should she misbehave? After all, who was he to her? It wasn't like he HAD to tell her before he went anywhere! She had to apologize to him, she decided.

The next day, she gathered all her courage and went to the Shantivan, only to see all the Raizadas and the two Jhas, sitting seriously. There was an air of dead silence there, and Khushi wondered if anybody HAD died!!!
