Description:
Med. School has always been her dream. Khushi is a very ambitious girl. Ever since she was little, she had planned her life out--bachelor's degree->stable relationship->Med. School->marriage->internship->2 kids. She is the daughter of a doctor. Growing up she learned to become strong and take care of herself. After her mum died, she's been the one looking after herself and her dad. Her dad loves her dearly but never really understood her the way her mum did. Since her dad didn't get married again for her happiness, Khushi feels obligated to make her dad happy. She doesn't believe in love as she thought love is just the state of the mind. She thought that when she finds a suitable partner than she will settle down and that will be her 'love'. She doesn't have time to fall in love so she has a notebook that would do that for her. Her notebook is filled with requirements that her future partner should have. If she finds a person that meets the requirements that means that she 'loves' him so no more wasting time on that. Her goal was to become a successful doctor and make her dad happy by settling down. That's all she wanted from life. She was a very fun loving person but very concentrated on her future because this year she was going to finally see her dream come true, everything was according to plan- she got accepted into a good med. school with her friend Payal and had a stable relationship with her notebook-perfect boyfriend Karan.
Arnav Singh Raizada-

Description:
Hardworking and diligent were 2 words you would use to describe Arnav. He was from a rich family that had no time for him. The only person he could say he truly loved was his Di. He was not the best person with words. He had no specific plan in life other than to become a doctor. He'd been in many relationships that never worked out and similar to Khushi he didn't believe in love, of course he was going to settle down eventually for his sister's happiness but after seeing his parents relationship turn into a compromise for life, he didn't really think that there is that one person you will always be happy with. Since seeing him married was his sister's dream he handed her the responsibility to find him a bride and his only condition was that it would be after med. School, other than that he was ready to marry whoever his sister picked with his eyes closed. The world saw him as a quiet and angry-young-man. His only friend/person he would talk to was his roommate Akash. Akash and his Di were probably the only people that knew him without his shell. Without the shell Arnav was very fun and humorous person, he wasn't crazy humorous but certainly not like the leave-me-alone person he portrayed to the world. He is the class-topper but wasn't considered a nerd. He did have some other 'friends'. He wasn't always the sweetest one but he definitely had a heart. He had his own style that he wouldn't change for anyone. He was the complete opposite of the man described in Khushi's book.
Payal Khurana-

23 year old, has completed her bachelor's degree, onto first year of med school.
Description:
Khushi's best friend and roommate. She is different from Khushi. She is the kind of person who believes in love stories and DDLJ. She is the only person apart from Khushi's mum who understood Khushi. She knows that growing up without a mum has changed Khushi and her only goal in life is to make her dad happy. Payal is the only person who notices that what Khushi considers her dreams are really her dad's and she has taken it upon herself to fulfill them. She knew Khushi since she was a child and she knows what Khushi really wants while Khushi herself doesn't know. She has 'fallen in love' many times and then always had a dramatic breakup which Khushi always took care of. Khushi to be honest found them amusing. Payal has always been there for Khushi and is one of the nicest kinds of human beings.
Akash Sharma-

25 year old, has completed his bachelor's degree, onto 3rd year of med. school.
Description:
Akash is a simple happy-go-lucky guy. He's loving and shy and funny and sweet and cute and everything a girl wants. He's a good friend to Arnav. He tries to make everyone happy. He always asks Arnav'"Tu hamesha matam kyun manata hai? Tere chera hamesha aisa lagta hai jaise tere saath koi tragedy hui hai." [Why do you always look like you're at a funeral? Your face always looks like you've gone through some tragedy.] And by small things like that he brings a very rare smile on Arnav's face. Akash is very confused about life and the future and believes in living in the present. He likes to have fun but is also serious at times.
Anjali Jha

30 year old, widow, lives in her maayka [parent's house]
Description:
Anjali is Arnav's older sister and loves Arnav dearly. She understands why Arnav is not into falling in love because of their parents. She always tries to bind the family together despite their parents constant fights. She believes that Arnav's bride will change things in the house. She takes the responsibility to find a suitable bride for Arnav but would much rather prefer him falling in love.
Dr. Shashi Gupta

55 year old, widower, a cardiologist
Description:
Dr. Shashi is Khushi's dad. He loves Khushi dearly and is guilty of not spending much with her. He misses his wife very much and sees her reflection in Khushi. He knows that he means the world to Khushi. His only desire is to see Khushi happy and settled.
Mr. Suraj Singh Raizada
Age/Occupation:
55 year old, married, business tycoon
Description:
Mr. Raizada is a nice man. He was married to his wife Sushila for a business merge between her family and his. He was never happy with her but doesn't try to make it obvious. He still thinks someday his wife will understand him. He doesn't want the same for his son Arnav. He really cares about him but due to his profession he doesn't spend time with him.
Mrs. Sushila Suraj Singh Raizada

51 year old, married, business woman
Description:
Mrs. Raizada is also a sweet and nice woman. She tries to be good mom but miserably fails because she is caught up in her life. She loved someone else when she was married to Arnav's father. She loves her children dearly and wants them to be happy. Arnav is always annoyed at her for not being there for him the day he needed her the most. [Details will be revealed in the story!!!] Arnav and Anjali are the only things keeping her dying relationship with her husband alive.
Mrs. Ramila Prakant Singh Raizada

Description:
Mrs. Raizada was Arnav and Anjali's dadi. Arnav loved her dearly and was devastated when she died. Arnav would always go to her and talk to her about his life and he would feel peace there. After she died, Arnav had no outlet to let out his feelings and thus decided to keep them bottled up inside. Anjali loved her as well and remembers her often. She follows her footsteps and binds the family together. Whenever Anjali does something she always thinks What would Daadi do in this situation?
