I had to put the topic in all caps because i thought this was the only way to catch attention in an increasingly indifferent forum.😭
Ever since the reruns started, i have observed that , instead of rocking with renewed enthusiasm, the members seem to haev completely lost interst in JJKN!!
Save for one or two threads, i dont see much discussion of the rerun episodes happening.
Of course, this is largely because they are not being aired anywhere except India 😡 and that too at a most inconvenient time...but when i started a thread asking for ppl to post their requests for a change, i got hardly any responses!ANd the few responses that i did get, were from Indian viewers, whereas it is the overseas that are suffering the most.
The general refrain has been "we are waiting for the videos". Well, that is fine, there should be videos for posterity....but dont you think there is something thrilling about waiting for the episode at a specific time each day, and watching your TV screen light up with the old title sequence and Jassi's pink umbrella?😳
Moreover, watching the reruns on TV enables us to practise "suspension of disbelief"--we can pretend that this is the original run of the show, and relive our own memories associated with it. Watching a recorded episode doesnt allow you that illusion.
Moreover, viewing videos is an individual affair...evryone watches them at their own convenience, at different times...even ppl in the same time zone...which means that we never gather here together to discuss the episodes.
I see CB, Hansa di, Madhu di, Jassisuri making so much effort to request for reruns and a sequel (pardon me if i am missing out anyone), but the general atmosphere is one of indifference.
IS this the same IF that protested long and hard to prevent "someone"😉 from entering the show, or that went all out to petition for reruns in the first place?
We are all cribbing about the reruns not starting properly, but what are we doing about it? If the same attitude prevails, then the sequel, if there is ever one, will be met by the same lack of interest.😭
I don't mean to criticise anyone...it just hurt me to see so little enthusiasm for the show that we were all once passionate about.
This is my last-ditch attempt--please, please do check out CB's thread and Js's too, and send your emails to Sony, SBS and Mumbai Mirror. Request sony to show the reruns at a more convenient tme, and to show them overseas too. Tell SBS and mirror how much we love and miss the show.
Maybe no one will read this thread....or maybe some will read and think "this girl is nuts"......evryone has moved on it seems, and soon i will be the only one sighing over JJKN.
And yes, please tell me if you want me to post the updates any longer....coz if no one is interested, what's the use?😭😭😭
