"I am pregnant mayank", her weak voice echoed in the silent room and the words hit his ear drums with a force contradicting her voice strength.

"it's two weeks ", she continued and started crying with light sobs, "it happened inspite of all the protection, why did that 1% chance came true with us!!, damn it!!", she closed her eyes tight and clenched her fists, she was crying and feeling miserable when a hard hand stroked her stomach, "our child", and the tender, affectionate masculine voice shocked her out of wits. She opened her eyes to see mayank's eyes brimming with tears and he was gently stroking her stomach, "nupur, our child .. our ..

"shut up mayank!!", she pushed his hand away and got up alarmed, "just shut up, this child is unwanted okay!!",she shouted on the top of her voice and mayank also stood up in shock.

"what kind of a woman are u nupur?, calling your child unwanted?'

"because it IS unwanted!!",s he shouted back,

"nupur listen to me", he came forward and held her arm, "just relax, it isn't a problem, you are pregnant, carrying a child you ..

"I don't want a child", she again pushed him away, "why are u forgetting that we aren't a normal couple who will start celebrating on this positive report!, I married for money!, I never knew this carnal pleasure seek will lead me here!!"

"nupur please!, this is not a result of just a carnal pleasure seek, you also love ..

"I don't love you!, I don't love anyone!!, just go away mayank!!", she shouted again sat down again crying bitterly. Mayank took a deep breath and sat beside her, "nupur, things can change, I have heard the feeling of motherhood can melt stones, you will start feeling for your child, trust me, if I feel such immense love by just hearing about my child than how much love will you hold knowing it's inside you, try to feel .", he held her hand and placed it on her stomach.

Expecting to feel her own flesh under her hand, she was surprised to feel something tingling and serene, something living, something her own, and this scared her even more!.

"Just get lost!", she stood up shouting, "and dare you try to force me for anything, you have no right mayank!!", she blurted out breathless and mayank felt his heart breaking down in a million tiny pieces. The extreme happiness he felt in a moment all went down the drain with just one sentence of hers', and he smiled back painfully.

"thank u for reminding me that I have no right over you, and you know what! .. I can force you but I love you too much to force you,", he looked at her painfully and left the room, leaving a crying, confused, guilty and pained nupur.

Mayank was sitting in his office, typing out useless things on tehcomputer, just to divert his attention to somewhere else but his mind was still struck over nupur's words.

"I am pregnant".

How could he feel detached form his own child, the feeling he never knew he was capable of ' belonging, he wasn't able to let his mind off from his child and he knew nupur would kill his child and he won't let that happen.

He entered home and the home was drowned in darkness, switching on the lights he saw nupur was quietly sitting on the window pane, looking outside blankly. For a minute his heart contracted with pain, but it went away in front of his love for his child.

"is my child still alive?", he asked sternly and saw her taking a deep breath, "yes it is, but I am going to abort it tomorrow morning", she replied back in a stony voice.

"you are not killing my child", his voice was rock steady in competition to hers"

"I already told you, you have no right to force me", she said, still looking outside.

"I agree I don't, but what if we strike a deal?", he crossed his arms around his chest and nupur looked back at him, "what?"

"don't be so shocked you are so well in deals, you here is the offer, give birth to my child and I won't take my due 15% share and with that I will give you the amount of moment you ask, just name it and you will get it, I promise", he said, calmly and nupur's mouth was left open, she felt a strange pain and humiliation arising in her heart and she felt her senses leaving coordination.

"you are actually asking me to sell the child?", her voice was shocked and breathless and mayank simply nodded.

"mayank you ..

"I am nupur!!, I want you to give birth to my child and I'll pay the price, fair enough?

she will sell it,won't she?! and as time passes,maybe she gives in to that hammering realization that has already started to seemingly make an effect...its perhaps more about her freaking out by what the voice at the back of her head has been saying,what her heart has been feeling...and just yet,the bond between them might not be just as strong,to make her more confident on this way of her life...perhaps old wounds take a real long time to heal?!
