Vaavaavooom!
You saw the cover & the making of Bipasha Basu's The Man cover and her full editorial defintely didn't dissapoint! If only she'd dress this well in all her public appearances and keep her hair curly!
BB opens up to the magazine about her unique choice of roles, working with Josh Harnett in her Hollywood film Singularity and the fact that she's not a big fan of guys who are metrosexuals.
Check out some highlights of the magazine (below),
"I was a huge bookworm when I was 14. I was always studying and never ben considered doing what I do now. Even my family wouldn't have bought it. I wanted to be a doctor back then!
- 14yo Bipasha Basu"I don't know. He's quite hot but I've met so many really hot guys and working with a lot of them. So you know, he's just like one of them"
- Working with Josh Harnett"This movie gave me a chance to work with a director and actors who are from a proper film school. It gave me a chance to learn. Even the small workshops and exercises helped more than I could imagine. Its a period film. Its based in the 18th century. The role is that of a warrior girl who is a bodyguard to a queen"
- Her Hollywood movie Singularity"When I was approached by Amitabh Bachchan & Jaya Bachchan I was overwhelmed. I was being paried alongside Abhishek for his debut. I wasn't keen on being an actor then. I was just a model and I was really oung. Thankfully it didn't happen at that point of time becasue I wasn't ready."
- The period film which was supposed to be her debut"I did Jism when no heroine would touch a movie like that. Even my manager opposed it. But I liked the concept. I like roles that are nothing like me. Take my launch- no one likes to be launched in a negative role."
- Picking her roles"Bollywood is a hero-centric industry. Let's face it. We aren't the greatest film makers in the world and the choice of films offered allow you to do only so much. I can't say I experiment too much. Last year when I did Lamhaa and Akrosh, peole were writing me off saying I was going to get married. Thats how the business is and thats how sensitive it is."
- Being experimental with her roles"Roland made us sit together for 30 min the first time and just look into each other's eyes without talking. Eventually Josh and I started talking with our eyes."
- The first time meeting Josh Harnett onset"Our country is a beautiful place to be for a woman. Especially an achiever. If we weren't an independent country, I wouldn't enjoy this kind of freedom. However nowadays its difficult to let your light shine bright given the corruption around us. People work hard but everything is wasted. Its sad"
- Independence to Bipasha Basu is…"It was with an older man and it wasn't anything good. I've had lots of good kisses after that"
- Her first kiss"I had to give up rice. Being a bengali, thats a huge sacrifice."
- Her one big sacrifice to stay fit"The one who I love has been taken. Brad Pitt! Maybe a younger unmarried, Brad Pitt!
- Bipasha's ideal guy"Vanity! Men nowadays are worse than women. All this metrosexuality is bordering on homosexuality. Most men are too much into themselves. It makes me want to throw up"
- The one thing she doesn't like in men
