Hi all,
please do not post irrelevant posts like podcasts in any topic that u see
i know podcast is a good feature and needs to be promoted but one single topic will do

those who are not interested do not like being bombarded with the same spam in every topic that we see

if u would like to promote include it in your siggy
please do not post it in different topics

Lalit, will help if you can tone down yourself and say what you want to, in a more polite manner.

Most people who send posts for Retro r very senior members and Very popular ones as well .Can't write anything to oppose them .

I agree with Lalit. While the podcasts are good and must be promoted, it does not make sense to post advertisements about them in every single topic, which does constitute as spam (COC).

Signatures are better as you can not only contribute to the discussion, but advertise the podcast as well without copying and pasting the same message over and over. Its like killing 2 birds with one stone. 😊

Its the same logic that we apply to promoting all contests on IF, isnt it? Make a GA and then include links in Sigs.

Agar ye sab popular hain then the reason is that they're intelligent and fair people and will understand your point of view...

I didn't see Lalit being impolite in the post that I just read but to be fair to the Mods, I see that he did edit it so wont judge. The original post might have been a harsher version of what I now read...

I do agree with Lalit and others though... lets just tone it down a bit. The podcast has been advertized enough and it does get kind of irritating to see "Be sure to catch Mohd Rafi podcast" and so on... in each and every thread...

And this is only about the "spam" - I do have my views on the content of the podcasts (thanks to neo09->neo10->Anshu->"hopefully wont get banned so no new nick to track" 😆 for the mp3s) but thats purely from a personal perspective and in no way reflection on the efforts of the people involved in that project...

Talking about spamming, I see our beloved Vinit Mehta posting pictures of him with celebrities (or shall I say pictures of celebrities with him....😉) in every other thread which to me constitute spamming and is against the COC. It really irritates me 😡😡as he posts the same pictures over and over. I know Vinit provides us very good live updates and I appreciate that but that does that give him right to spam every thread. Vinit, please post your pictures in separate topic. Those who want to see you with celebrities can open it and see you there. No need to post the same pictures over and over in every thread.

And I am posting this before so you won't spam this thread again with your pictures................😊

Allow me to apologise to T., Lalit and Varshaji here.

I am the main culprit – I asked Adi /Jaya / Anu to promote Retro Caf in such a aggressive mode. Neither me or them had any vested interest in this – just wanted to introduce members here (many of them are from younger generation) some good music and promote such a great effort by IF podcast team & Vijay.

Just to assure you it won't happen again.

Jaya / Adi / Anu – I am really sorry, due to me you had to face this humiliation.

Let me say few more things here – some of you might get little upset, but nothing personal here.

Why promote retro caf – free music by some legendary music composer and singers in a music competition forum? Golden silence of 'relevant' emoticons everywhere is much more contextual – isn't it? Or even few claps here and there just to say 'I agree' – that add a whole new perspective to the discussion – right?

Why make an effort to spread good music taste amongst some teens? 200+ pages of 'hi everyone' or copy pasting some chain mails are great value add – no?

I would suggest Qwestda, Vijay and Swar_Raj to stop posting all those great articles – it's a crime to spam the forum with the 'musical' articles.

And Rahul / Shady / Punjini / Jadoo – why you guys are wasting your time with those long debates – very few are actually interested in those – that should be considered as spamming too.

The IF podcasts especially the Retro Cafe has been a good show and some of us members have wanted to share it with our friends in the forum.

There are many members here who visit only certain threads and not all threads and for the benefit of all members of India Forums, a few of us have been spreading the word of Retro Cafe around.

Juggy, the original post of Lalit was very harsh and hence I asked him to tone down. Lalit certainly understood what I was conveying, and as you rightly interpreted it, has edited his own post after my post.

SPAM is a big word. If you see, almost everyone in the section spams at some time or the other. It is never intended to be serious, but is only in good fun and in a lighter vein.

The promotion of Retro Cafe was done in the interests of IF and for the benefit of all members.
