i am with you my friend. my comment was a bit tongue-in-cheek directed at myself rather than at anyone else. agree with you that this topic is at least a bit more informative than some others that do the rounds 😊

now sorry to whoever who thinks we shld not be analyzing career choices here.😛

Though even I think its quite irrelevant discussing singer earnings here (unless one of us is from the IT department😉 and wants to use this channel to get the insider's information as some privileged members here seem to know some of the singers personally😛), I had read somewhere that its the stage shows that get the singers lot more money than playback... not sure about the established singers, but the article said that the new ones i.e. the talent hunt finds like Rahul Vaidya, Himani etc only get them around Rs 5000 per playback song, while a stage show can get them lakhs of rupees.. No wonder they think that there is where the future lies...😕

Rahul ji, I know you are all along with this topic. let me say it clearly it's all geared towards anu's comments

====================

Can I ask u all one question?? Why are you ppl discussing how much the singers and actors are payed?? 😕

Either you shld be frm the income tax dept or they must be giving u a share frm wat they get.. Only then u need to discuss such things.. Otherwise u to?? 😕

Its not relevant to todays case but i remember reading in one newspaper when Udits PAPA KEHTE HAI was superhit, he started charging Rs10000 per song, and he used to sing more than one song everyday. This is about 14/15 years back, which means, in todays date they must definitely get in six figures per song. Thats why they have gone proudy except few.

u cld simply call me Rahul, Manju-ji.😊 and i appreciate your support...

still, while i disagree with certain comments and have tried to reflect that disagreement with a bit of wry self-deprecating humor (?) at a certain point, i wld like to speak up for someone's right to question things, even if that goes against our opinions at certain times. of course as long as it is all decently stated, both sides. wanting to suppress those questions is actually ironic given that we ourselves want a free-flowing forum that goes both ways. not what i'd like to see in a discussion forum.

agree with u on the topic...
