bindu...i finaly caught up on my reading...i loved parts 33 and 34👏...oh maaneet's realizations of how they feel for the other is so beautifuly described by you...i love the way you describe their thoughts...an geet is so cute the way she is starting to feel like maan's touch makes her feel different...can't wait for the next update😍

PART 34

35. Surprises

Seeing Maan coming down the stairs Sasha moved towards him. After reaching KM , seeing the way it was decorated with the lights and flowers and from the whole atmosphere, the doubt that the rumours might be true gained its root in her mind. Since she was a bit early, with guests just beginning to pour in, she decided to clear her doubt from the most reliable source, the man himself. Moving to stand beside him she wished him good evening.

"Good evening Sasha. I am glad you were able to make it to the party."

"The party is a bit unexpected. No one seems to know exactly what we are celebrating." She placed a hand on his sleeve and said in conspiratorial tone. "You know MK, the rumour mill is spinning tales about your marriage." She laughed as if amused by the prospect.

"Oh!'"

She patted his arm in confidence, "I don't believe it you know!"

"Why not?" Maan looked towards the stairs waiting for Geet to appear, as he listened half-heartedly.

"Come on MK! Do you think I am a fool? We are talking about the marriage of Mr. Maan Singh Khurna!"

That draws man's eyes to her. She tilted her head and flicked her hair with her fingers, showing off her newly styled hair.

"But sometimes the rumours turn true.." he said with a smile, thinking about how exciting his life had become within the last few days.

"You mean...?" She didn't even want to complete the sentence. She didn't want to have her hopes shattered.

"Yes Sasha, this party is to announce my marriage to the world. To introduce my beautiful wife..." The movement at the stairs drew his attention and he smiled indulgently, " and here she comes..."

Sasha turned and saw Sameera who walked in front of Geet.

"So you finally married Sameera..." disappointment etched her voice.

"Sam?..." Maan let out a chuckle in self-mockery. He hadn't even noticed Sam walking with Geet. "No, not Sam..."

"Geet!" Sasha exclaimed, noticing the adornments of a bride on Geet. Maan excused himself to move towards his wife.

"Sasha ma'am, you have your mouth open!" Pinky giggled beside her.

As Maan reached his wife, he was amused by the blush that still stained her cheeks and thought about the reason behind it ...

A knock on the door broke into their moment of togetherness...Maan turned towards the door mentally cursing the intruder.

"Sorry to interrupt you love birds..." came Sameera's voice, " but can I come in" she peeked in. Maan frowned at her, which she ignored and came into the room.

"Just wanted to check if Geet needed any assistance. You look really beautiful today." She kissed Geet on both cheeks. " What is it that is done in movies?" She asked as she touched her forefinger to the tip of her kohl-smudged eyes and put the nazar tika on Geet. "Tumhe kissi ki nazar na lage!"

"Thank you, Sam" Geet hugged Sameera.

Maan stood there watching the show of affection between the beautiful ladies. Sam turned towards him then and said, "You don't look so bad yourself, Maan." To which he inclined his head, mocking. "Thank you."

"But what are you doing here still? Go attend to your guests. Daadi sent me to inform that they have started to arrive...now shoo!"

Maan glared at Sam for her highhandedness, but decided to follow the order. But before going there was something that he wanted to do so badly.

"Just a minute, " he moved to stand beside Geet. Smiling he touched his hand to his lips as he looked at Geet. Geet knew what was coming and a slow blush began to redden her cheeks that expected his touch. Maan moved his hand towards her cheeks and saw her casting her eyes down, shyly. A naughty smile spread across his lips as he transferred his kiss to her lips instead. Her eyes flew to his in surprise. He winked at her and found her blush deepen.

"Ohhh! So sweet!" he heard Sam exclaim as he walked away, chuckling.

Maan held out his hand as Geet reached the last step. She spared him a quick glance as she put her hand in his, but then pulled her eyes away. He found that the rosy hue was still present in her cheeks. "Haven't gotten over your blush yet?" he teased near her ear." I have to say Geet there is nothing more beautiful than my wife's blush. But don't your cheeks burn from it?" He ran a finger down her cheek to her chin and then lifted her face to peer into her eyes. "But I like to see your eyes...they are the mirrors into your soul...so innocent...so pure.."

Someone cleared throat near by jerking them back to awareness of the surrounding...

"Maan bhai! Take a break from admiring my bhabi. Go to your guests... I need to introduce babhi to my friends."

Annie had come for a short visit due to the reception. She had not fully forgiven him for marrying without her in attendance and had threatened to deliver him the same treatment. But she had mellowed on hearing about the need for taking such a step. He watched them walk away and was rewarded with a backward glance from Geet.

Sameera's eyes searched for Rudr and as expected caught him surrounded by a group of fawning females. Annie's friends by the look of it, she thought. It was so easy to spot him, not just by the way he towered over others but also by your ears. One just had to look at the giggling girls and he would surely be with them. He looked up and caught her eyes on him. He lifted his eyebrows in enquiry and she shook her head. She saw him untangling his arm from one particular enthusiastic fan with the purpose of coming towards her. She looked for an escape route, not wanting to get any inkling about the sudden dislike she seemed to have developed for a particular group of females.

Luck favored her when he was detained by Geet and Annie when he ws near her.

" There is no word in the dictionary to describe how good you look today, Chotu!"

In spite of her bad mood, she couldn't help but smile at hischarm. It didn't take Rudr more than a few minutes to catch up with her.

" Whoah! Are you a magnet? I am irresistibly drawn towards you!"

"Really? I would have taken you for the magnet by the way those girls were clinging to you!" she retorted.

"I didn't know you wore contact lenses, Sameera!" Rudr said in a charming tone, peering deep into her eyes.

The change in subject confused her, she had expected him with some arrogant comeback as soon as she realized what she had blurted out. "Contacts? But I don't..."

"Then how come your eyes have turned green today?" Rudr grinned.

The nerve of the man! Yet he had caught her to admit she was jealous... "I have better things to do than being green about your admirers!"

"I hope the better things will include a dance with me?"

"Let me check my dance card to see if I have any vacant slot!"

"I'll be most honoured, my lady!" Rudr made an eloquent bow. Sam laughed, it was impossible to be angry with him. She saw her parents arrive with her brother.

"Excuse me, Rudr. My parents are her. Let me just..." she didn't want them to feel awkward.

"May I walk with you my lady?" Rudr offered his arm to her in flourish. He would do whatever it he could to make her feel comfortable ...

"Dear friends, I thank you for accepting my invitation to be here with me. Today I wish to announce the biggest happiness of my life, my marriage. This party is to honour the most beautiful and wonderful woman who has graced my life with her presence." He held out his hand to Geet and pulled her forward to stand with him. " Meet Geet, my wife and co-owner of Khurana Empire!" Geet's eyes lifted to his in shock at the last announcement. He squeezed her shoulder in reassurance as well-wishers moved forward to greet them...

sorry about the lack of replies to your comment in the last update...was feeling blue, coz my parents went back to Kerala... hope u enjoyed this update, plz let me know...the next update will be another shorter one...and i need to take time off for 'Forbidden' ..it's been more than a fortnight since i updated that😳
