Shakti Mohan, was born in Delhi but has for the past 5 years resided in Mumbai.Her family consists of her parents and 3 siblings. She is close to her sisters-Neeti, Mukti and Kriti.

She was planning to become an IAS officer when Dance India happened and rest is a history. There was no looking back for her from then. Shakti injured her leg in an accident as a child and Doctors said she won't be able to walk on her feet again but with her family's support, courage and determination she began to walk and dance as well. In an interview when she was asked which is her Most Unforgettable Moment Shakti replied "When I was able to dance despite Doctors had given up all hope after my brutal accident". This hardworking girl went ahead and won Takdir ki Topi thus becoming winner of Dance India Dance Season 2.

Shakti's passion is "Dance" Lyrical contemporary and funky jazz are her favorite styles. Her idols are Terence Lewis and Katie (from So You Think You Can Dance) . She loves adventures and sports and always opens to new challenges. She has performed in various award functions and events.

Shakti's chemistry with her DID co contestant Kunwar Amarjeet Singh was always appreciated by Judges and Audience. Shakti plays the lead role of Kria Ghai in Channel V's Dil Dostii Dance where she is paired opposite Reyaash Singhania essayed by Kuwar Amarjeet Singh.
