Hiten replaces Eijaz

THE NEW MAN: Hiten Tejwani now plays Abhinav Pandey in Kesar

Hiten Tejwani (Karan of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) has replaced Eijaz Khan (Soham in Kkusum) to play the character of Abhinav Pandey in the daily soap Kesar (Star Plus).

After Khan was pencilled in to play the lead role of Kkavya in the prime time soap Kkavyanjali last week, he had to make an exit from Kesar.

"Yes, I am going to play Abhinav's character," says Tejwani, "I began shooting for it yesterday. As I have just begun, I don't know exactly what track Abhinav's character will have."

This game of musical chairs in these Balaji soaps was necessitated after Rakshak Sawhney, who played Kkavya, was dropped from Kkavyanjali last week.

He claimed that the long hours of shooting had taken a toll on his health.

When he asked for a break, he was told to opt out of the show and be a part of Kasautii Zindagi Kay instead. But eventually he was dropped from Kasautii too.

Interestingly, Tejwani claims that he is not an avid tellywatcher. "I do not see my own shows. I don't even follow Kyunki… of which I am a part," he adds when asked if he has ever watched Kesar.

This daily, which went on air last year, has Nandini Singh play the title role of Kesar, a small town girl.

The track now has Kesar torn between two men — her husband Rudr and his friend Abhi, who still wants to marry her to keep his promise to his dying mother.
