I keep saying this, over and over, but the transition is incredibly seamless!

Yeah you literally get goosebumps when you realize just how closely the resemblance has been maintained post-leap...I was toh just blown away that they used the same MUSIC also...and every tiny gesture down to the way Kesar turns back to look at her after looking away...it's all credit to the director on some level too I'd say...that they take care to keep these nuances consistent...they're the ones shooting the scenes after all...

Mostly all of GK scenes have had this artistic quality to them especially this one because you can feel the calmness as he looks at her in a new light and even the way Gulaal is brushing and tossing her hair, it's all done in slower motion. So not only is Kesar being drawn to Gulaal, but the audience is also gradually being lured in to this private moment. I always get this poetic feel whenever I watch this particular scene because it's as if I'm watching a poem being recited silently on screen. I'm reminded of a beautiful damsel with her hair open, unknowingly attracting this young man from afar. There is a lot serenity in the way it's shot and enacted yet it still raises the level of intensity between the two characters...sort of giving you chills at the same time because you know what kind of relationship they had shared till now.
Like this shot..
It's very picturesque.

@ Nur : lovely scene and lovely caps again !

@ Reemz : very well said ,👏👏 indeed this was a bold step towards depicting the unconventional love story and so well portrayed, making it so aesthetic and heart-tugging...

And in the frame above, what strikes me is that it has an oblivious Gulaal being looked at by both Kesar and Vasant - Kesar in reality and Vasant from his photo..

😲 I'd never have spotted that! you're now officially entering Ganga's parkhi nazar which was unmatched on the forum thus far! It actually looks so much that way - to add it (now after you point out), Vasant is closer to her, than Kesar, who is at this point (of the story too) a distant almost blur prospective candidate as the man in her life... As opposed to many future shots to come, where Kesar comes to the fore and focus, and Vasant's picture hangs somewhere in the BG - a position reversal...

Thanks, Reemz :-) I didn't know if you'd be making the topic today so I made it but you're welcome to make the next one if it's ok with you :-)

Very true about that artistic quality to most GK scenes...and interestingly in that cap also, notice Vasant's portrait in the bg...omnipresent...lol

To me, the music plays a major part in this scene as I mentioned in the post above...the music builds the crescendo of the intensity or even the more serene bits of the scene as Kesar is watching her simply brushing her hair.

I think this piece of music was only used this once...don't recall it being used again on GK after this.

Lol, yeh I probably concentrated on your music elaboration 😆 And actually it wasn't the 'Vasant' portrait I meant as not noticed, but the idea of both overlooking an oblivious Gulaal - it didn't strike me in that sense... but word toyour word -omnipresent - wo to hota hi hai, for all critical scenes, but romance mein bhi nai choda akela in dono ko, uff! 😆 I think the idea of focussing on GK faces in the final confession was such a good idea 😆 - or was Vasant shown in that too - need to go back and check, but I think the idea was getting done and over with him in his bhoot version 😆

ps: Hope you're feeling better by the way nd up for work, since Monday is almost here again!
