@ JZee... can you believe this that I had not seen Rishta till like last week...🤔 it was recommended by a friend... and it was in the mid-Gulaal phangiri phase, hence conveniently forgotten...

Now with Gulaal ending, I tried to dig up something interesting to watch, and saw all the episodes on a marathon watch in 3 days flat... and whew... can I say that I LOVED it...❤️ man, it said end of season 1... so, when is the next season...?? with this show, there is the possibility of the 2nd season, and I can't wait till then... also, Malaal... but that's another masterpiece all-together...

Guess, I will need to do more research and dig up some more interesting stuff to watch... when I do get time... 😳 catch up with u guys later...

^^ For now they confirmed no season 2 is coming - sad, but true. Of course the actors themselves have always said they'd love for a sequel - but other than that, there have been no signs. Rishta certainly was a pleasant surprise on Indian TV, when I first got hooked to it. Once in a while something come up, that manages to retain its quality start to end, and you begin to have reason to hope, at least occasionally!

Malaal - oh sigh! Someone recommended that to me, when I was in my initial bit of starting to catch up on Gulaal, so I watched it sometime back in June - in two days flat, in your lingo 😆 - its amazing how I sort of stumbled onto two shows, both being (technically speaking) stories of younger males falling in love with elder women - both brilliant, and both so different anyway! It would be hard to chose one, although my bias may still, just manage to, tilt on Gulaal-o-meter ☺️ And those brownie points may be entirely for the DOP ... ! Anyway!

Catch up with you soon =)

Till now, I was a bit confused if Kesar ever saw her this light becoz before this they had the fall and catch scene of Kesar-Talii🤢, which made me rethink dat if I was expecting something which I shud not. I still remember the ad for tjis episode where the voice told in Talli's heart there is only Kesar but who rules Kesar's heart??? and they showed this moment with Piyu Mhaari in the background. Must say, Mansi looked stunning in this scenes and Neil's expressions were marvellous(like he was intrigued by her beauty, drawn into her and seeing her in a completely new light). I love the way he says his eyes not leaving Gulaal-"Tu toh humesha se hi sundar lagti hai" and still keeps on gazing like he is enchanted! Kudos to the CVs on such a subtle yet mesmerizing scene.
Nur- amazing caps- I neva miss them- they are just so beautiful👏

Oh yes, the trip-catch scene they showed b/w KT before this was just ughhh😆😆...But in a sense I can just LAUGH at how ridiculous Talli's coyness over all this was...Kesar was constantly bemused at her too.

I guess if I was watching the show in sequence, I'd have never seen this coming either...but what's wonderful about this scene is the way they showed the paradox, the conflicts in Kesar...just moments before he was shooting such hatred filled looks at Gulaal...and then comes this moment...a moment of enchantment, poetry as Reemz calls it...and Kesar is lost in another world where only his subconscience is talking and expressing his deepest feelings even when he himself wasn't fully cognizant of them in a sense...it's like he had no control over those lines slipping out...something he otherwise tried so hard to shield by giving cold, hateful looks to Gulaal...but in this moment, we see Kesar's heart and how it always yearns for, gets drawn only to Gulaal.

Lovely caps Nur!

This scene was pretty much a surprise actually..cos after the breakfast scene I expected the scene to shift to the temple..

He finds her beautiful inside out...and the use of humesha is understandable cos shes always been this way to him...she had a golden heart that's what he's seen and believed in...
I don't know if I'm making sense..lol...but of course he was young back then and now there is this new emotion that's triggered in him..which will build on later.

Thanks, Maz! Was wondering where you were yesterday...thanks for dropping in!

@bold: Beautifully said...and you make complete sense yaar...although this moment is about Kesar being so enthralled by her...it is basically that HUMESHA that is interesting...yes...ALWAYS...she has ALWAYS been beautiful to him...inside AND out...and while this moment is about him being mesmerized by her beauty, it is so much beyond that...it's like this is the pull that stops him in his tracks and takes him back to a time when there were no doubts, where she was the most beautiful woman in the world to him, when she was his world...it's familiar yet, unfamiliar cuz there is a new emotion attached to it...yes, he found her HUMESHA se sundar...and yet, NOW when he sees her, there is a new light in his eyes...it feels unfamiliar yet familiar...I guess I keep coming back to that cuz that's the sense I feel...lol

And that is what is amazing about how KESAR has known her...no one else...not Vasant, not Dushyant have known her like that, viewed her like that...for Kesar she will always be in a whole another realm.

So I personally love the way yet another meal time scene plays out between GK - does we realize how consistently backdrops and scene bases are used in this show, say for example this entire idea of meal time dynamics, and yet everytime, we get to watch something new? As opposed to let's say literally any and every other show on TV, where even something as 'hawt' by design as trip and fall or dupatta scenes get oh-so-cliche after like the 3rd re-run. Okay, they're bad enough the first time, but even 'phans' start finding repetition in them after a while. Not with GK. Everytime you see these two together at a meal gathering, the purpose is different. Everytime they have to do a 'pati-patni' pooja, the idea is showing the advancement in their bond. Everytime we get one or the other version of 'aur tu' - the tone is a different message, and the cliche never really hits them! In the case of this script - and this one alone - repetition, like some literary tool, becomes a kind of classic consistency which they maintain, tying threads each time and moving ahead everytime they utilize a 'same theme base'. Totally agree...and I think the finite length of the show helped keep that freshness to their scenes...even if it's mealtime or a pooja like you said, always there was a new element, a new thread or old threads being tied up so wonderfully *sigh* I love this show.

----

And I know Mansi has left her hair open in scenes after, but I like them the best here - without any hair pins and what not! She just looks surreal, and maybe, seeing her through Kesar's eyes - shinning with a different light as you all said - makes a difference too! I think its safe to say that every one, with the exception of the barging fool - is quite in agreement with Kesar's sentiment! LOL I agree...Manasi's hair looked GORGEOUS in this scene...that wig was well brushed for this scene I guess🤣...you really can't blame Kesar or anyone from being enthralled...btw so no one else found it funny that Gulaal's "tayyari" for the pooja only involved brushing her hair, tying it up again and putting on her bangles again?😆😆

She has no clue how his life was in the 10 years, what he thought and how his thinking and likes may or not have changed... one of the reasons why she still treats him like the 12 year old... while, Kesar, like truly said by Gulaal when he comes back, knows her heart better than herself, but is yet to look beyond the doubts and insecurities surrounding him... Oh what a brilliant point, Minks! I never realized that before but it's so true...in a sense yes she did share her entire life with him those ten years while he gave her NOTHING...no wonder she still clung to the memories of that 12 year old boy...while he grew up knowing her every thought, dreams in those 10 years *sigh*...Now that 'tu mere mann ko samajhta hai' line becomes even more poignant *sigh*...but yes obviously Kesar KNOWS it all but finds it difficult to TRUST because of his own turmoil...oh what a story...I realllyyy love this story.

So, yes, Gulaal is finally trying to unravel Kesar's mind and tip-toeing around to see how and what works best around him... while he is trying and failing to stay aloof from his nemesis in a way, she so holds all the strings to his life, unknowingly so...

This whole fleeting look of admiration and love for Gulaal, was such a clear-cut disclosure of his heart's wishes... yet, he manages to hide them forcibly and stay away till the epic orchard scene... Beautifully summed up!

So I read that you JUST recently watched R.com?? LOL yeah that was one brilliant show...I absolutely loved it and watched it when it aired...they don't make 'em like it anymore even within the YRF group of shows...*sigh* I miss it too.

Jzee, you know all these lovely comparison gifs that Geeshani is putting up...the one you're using in your sigbox especially...seriously GOOSEBUMPS...it's UNCANNY how the sequence plays out EXACTLY the same way...the way he looks away and looks back at her again...and I was watching this just last night again...even the MUSIC they used for both scenes is the same...amazing, haina??

I uploaded this scene last night seperately...

JZ..Absolutely agree...the unpredictability of the events is what is really enjoyable..the scenes catch you by surprise...and that is the ultimate experience a viewer would like from any TV show/movie.. keep guessing..

the to and fro is lovely...cos really that's how it is from Kesar's POV...he's struggling to be rude and cold to her...the thoughts in his mind keep fluctuating..and his actions is a mere translation of that.. and Gulaal is just responding to these in her own way..

Nur
..@unfamiliar yet familiar...totally right!

Kesar indeed is the one who knows her like no one else..she was everything to him...one who in a sense taught him lessons in life...she helped him face his fears..she made him understand importance of relationships...in a way she helped him get over the loss of his brother...and he did that for her...they found solace in each other..getting through the tough times..at a young age he had already experienced a lot. At his age..it's that crucial adolescent period that one remembers very well later on in life...people special to you leave an impact...Gulaal was that to Kesar until of course the fateful day he overheard things..

@pooja tayyari..😆 yea that was amusing...actually I think I understand the combing hair cos you want to have your hair in place etc...but she looked pretty fine at the table scene...a change in outfit would have made sense...

And that's a wig?! I have always wondered cos she has curly hair in real na...I assumed that it's probably straightened for the scenes..

@pre-leap scenes...the resemblance is too awesome for words...wonder if it's just coincidental or some real fantastic homework by Neil..

BTW are you going to upload all their pre-leap scenes??..if so that would be fantastic... funny coincidence I recently uploaded these scenes but in 2 parts cos it was from different episodes.
