Part 3 :
Mayank was standing at the door step of his own house after long. He had avoided doing it for as long as he could have for the last few months, but here he was pressing the door bell and again standing, and waiting for the door to be opened from the other side once more. He had a stubborn determination on his face with his mind absolutely clear on that front, no one else mattered to him at the moment more than his son Varun, not even his own fluctuating thoughts.
The door was opened by Nupur, who had her eyes as excited as she had them when she had first met him. She was wearing a long sleeveless Kurti, white in colour, along with a Maroon Patiala Salwaar with her long straight hair assembled to one side on her shoulders. She looked just the way he liked it, simple, stunning and herself.
Nupur had made up her mind and for a moment had completely forgotten anything ever could go wrong from the other side again. She had tried hard to hide her eyes speaking of her new hopes and decisions just yet, but she just couldn't help it, not even his cold reply on phone had helped it, not that she wasn't hurt but she just couldn't help staring at the man, who she knew well enough to fall in love with him every time she saw him. It was as if her earlier days of marriage filled with ever growing love had retuned back. She had so missed him lately.
She was suddenly reminded of the fact how she had found his snobbish looks and anger cute earlier then, it used to make her push her for loving him more and adoring him too. Something which Nupur had learned from Mayank, being so close and loving so much that nothing mattered more, no anger managed to stand it but this one.
Noticing her choice's Brown T-shirt on him wih black denims, she moved ahead to give him a hug forgetting the N number of arguments and fights and upset moments they had had recently.
Mayank was taken in by a surprise by Nupur, he wanted to hug her back tight, but he just couldn't forget everything just as easily as Nupur had, or was pretending to. Though he held her back out of courtesy and in the process soaked in the scent of her hair as he inhaled them in but still by all means he was prepared not to let things be in her hand as always and brutally looked in face to his every urge.
What hurt-ed him the most was the fact that she had done what she had been pleased by and then was ready to stay away from him for so long and had called him over when she needed him and now she was pretending as if nothing ever was wrong. Didn't she realize he had heart and a brain too?
With all these thoughts revolving themselves in his mind, he pulled out of the hug rather hurriedly and without even looking her in the eyes, he took the steps in the house towards his parents in the dining hall with the smile back on his face.
Nupur was left feeling dejected and hurt once more. She was realizing what she had decided as a remedy for all was not so easy after all and went in to have dinner with her family with just 1 person missing today.
The dinner went smooth, because neither Mayank, nor Nupur tried to hurt themselves more by having a conversation with each other, rather they had limited it to Senior Mr and Mrs Sharma. But nevertheless they still tried to parse everything said by the other, as if looking for words which would clarify if the other mentioned them to hurt or not. None of them managed to find much though.

Nupur had changed her course in a week or so and was shifted in Mayank's class as a result of it. They had had a bad start of words with each other but not bad at all in terms of feelings and thinking of the other, it was as harmoniously fresh as it should have been.
Nupur saw Mayank immersed in his book yet again, sitting on the 3rd bench of the 2nd row while others chatted out to glory.
Nupur plainly came and stood in front of his bench and still finding no response from this 'most-interested-in-books-always' guy, she drew his attention to her words which she knew he would certainly make him react to, "There is no way to peace, Peace is the way" she meant it for them.
Mayank smiled at her amused and replied, "Words of Mr. M.K.Gandhi by Miss Nupur?" and raised an eyebrow to her.
Nupur smile back as she replied, "Just to scoop out a Million Dollar Smile from Mr.'Who-the-hell-cares-about-others' "and matched his amused smile to self.
Mayank gave a soft laugh as she sat down beside him on the bench and told him how she had landed up in this class beside him. Mayank was liking her and her ways,He tried listening to her blabbering for almost 15 minutes with every little detail of her encounters to formalities in taking up a course of choice, he got a little disturbed by so much talk in class which he was not at all used to, but still he was not the one to force her mouth shut, he believed in letting people be.
Mayank was back to his books as she finished her talking and she immediately got her answer 'he was a man of few words and the one who would want to aim at reading people just like books with uni- directional flow of words and thoughts'. She shook her head and looked ahead in the direction of the professor to cope up with his words for the starters in her new class.

All of Nupur's determination seemed to be failing in front of her eyes as she witnessed her fear for her 'not-convincing-words' ,as they were earlier, threatened to push him away more than he already was becoming.
She was needed to constantly remind herself that he was at fault too and he also needed to respect her individuality and the person she is.
It was becoming more and more complex to solve things in her mind.
She entered their room after feeling nervous a bit when she found that he was already asleep or pretended to purposely not wanting to talk to her. His notions to her were precise and clear, he didn't want any step further towards each other anymore, neither from his side nor from hers. He was just being too obstinate to think beyond Varun as a priority. But Nupur's priority was the same too, she wanted to talk about Varun primarily and then about them but she wasn't exactly getting the chance to do that, 6 hours already that he was home and she didn't get even have the prospect to have a word with him. It was just like the way they had left things, rather just a continuation of it.
