"Begining"

Raj Kumar was one of the most famous businessmen in the city, and he knew that very well. But he knew one more thing: all of this was only a temporary framework of a temporary world. He had always been deeply interested in things that were beyond this world.

“Ahh… mera sir dukh raha hai,” Raj exclaimed as he got up from his bed, covered with cotton sheets.

“Arrey, uth gaya tu?” Shoman said casually as he returned from the restroom, drying his hands with a towel.

Shoman looked at Raj.

“Kya hua? Tu theek toh hai na?” he asked, taking a few steps closer to his bed.

“Haan yaar, bas kal raat kuch zyada hi ho gayi,” Raj replied as he started checking his phone.

Shoman became casual again and turned on the TV.

Lei Wei was walking through the corridor of the hotel with a plate of bread and a porcelain soup bowl, accompanied by Chen Hao, when suddenly, a sharp and loud thunderclap echoed through the hotel.

“Awak tahu kenapa mereka datang?” Lei Wei asked.

(Woh kyun aaye hain, pata hai?)

“Ya, saya tahu. Mereka menginap di sini atas urusan penting,” Chen Hao replied.

Raj was getting dressed in front of the full-length mirror in the room's bathroom when the doorbell rang, followed by another loud clap of thunder.

Shoman opened the door and saw Lei Wei standing there.

“Oh, one minute.”

He instantly placed his phone on the bed and returned to the door to take the plate from Lei Wei. Meanwhile, Lei Wei was trying to inspect Shoman and the room with a suspicious look on his face.

Raj came to the door after getting dressed.

“Yes?”

He suddenly emerged from the left side, giving Lei Wei a small jumpscare. Lei Wei stepped back for a moment, then quickly returned to his work without responding to Raj.

It was afternoon now, and rain was covering the grounds with full force. Yet the air had completely stopped.

In a strange way, not a single leaf had moved, not even slightly, from morning until now.

“Tumne theek se pata kiya tha na? Kahin…?” Raj asked while sitting on the bed and staring straight at the window.

“Nahi, maine keh diya hai manager ko. Kuch bhi ho, sabse pehle humein bataye,” Shoman replied from the bathroom, with the shower running.

Raj nodded briefly without saying anything.

1:21 PM

Raj was still sitting in the same place, drinking water from a plastic bottle, while Shoman sat beside him, using his phone.

“Paani khatam ho gaya hai,” Raj said calmly while looking at the bottle in his hand.

A thunderclap echoed loudly.

“Lekar aayega ya main jaaun?” Raj asked, looking at Shoman.

But Shoman didn't reply.

Raj went to get another bottle of water.

He was walking down the passage toward the water supply, trying to think about nothing. He didn't want to ruin anything with his thoughts, especially negative thoughts.

Then suddenly…

He stopped.

His eyes widened.

His POV:

An old woman, approximately seventy to eighty years old, suddenly collapsed onto the ground while clutching her chest.

Raj's heartbeat immediately began racing.

He took an unfortunate U-turn and rushed back toward his room.

“Woh mar gayi… woh mar gayi…”

He said it after entering the room and standing against the closed door.

Shoman kept staring at him with a shocked expression.
