Putting the past behind, the actors have decided to join hands for Anand's new film

Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan had pleaded with Karan Johar several times, be it at the filmmaker's chat show on television or an awards function, to cast them together in Dostana 2. Well, that sure did not work out.

The rumours about the two good friends uniting for a film otherwise also died down. Looks like what Imran couldn't achieve, Shahid Kapoor has. Ranbir and Shahid are all set to come together in Siddharth Anand's next project.

A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "Ranbir Kapoor and Siddharth Anand go back a long way. Their fathers were close friends. Ranbir acted in two of Siddharth's films Bachna Ae Haseeno and Anjaana Anjaani. After the not so successful run of the latter, the two friends drifted apart."

All that is in the past now. "Ranbir and Siddharth are all set to work together. That too in a double hero film. It will be Ranbir and Shahid as the two male leads," added the source.

While Ranbir and Siddharth have grown up together, Shahid, it seems has recently grown close to the Rockstar actor. Ranbir, who was never really close to Shahid extended the olive branch by appreciating the promos of the latter actor's forthcoming film, Mausam.

Said the source, "Shahid was pleasantly surprised to hear praises about the Mausam trailer from Ranbir. Ranbir and Shahid had hardly ever exchanged pleasantries at social events or functions." And after this, Shahid was the first one to congratulate Ranbir on the first look trailer of Rockstar.

The two actors, who have bonded ever since have now decided to star together in Siddharth Anand's next. While Anand decided not to divulge any details, a source close to both Shahid and Ranbir confirmed, "Yes, Siddharth is putting a project together starring Ranbir and Shahid in the lead."

that'd be nice, both can act really well...i dont like siddharth as both is films seem to be flaky though :S

I think Shahid-Ranbir are really very contrasting..lets see how they complement each other...😊

oh cuz i dislike katrina so the only 2 option from the top actresses left are PC and kareena lol and kareena can't be paired with Ranbir so that's why i said pc with biru and kareena with shasha😆
