Although she's not completely hogging the silver screen, and is slowing down due to her pregnancy, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan still continues to be one of the most successful and talked about actresses of today.
Aishwarya was recently honoured with the Pazhassi Raja Purashkaram 'Abhinaya Kala Ratna' instituted by the Pazhassi Raja Charitable Trust.
Only a few months back, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was honoured by the French government, and became the first Asian actress and the youngest Indian to win the honour.
Other recipients of this award include Lata Mangeshkar, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and many others from other fields. Previously, this award has only been conferred on Amitabh Bachchan from B-Town. Aishwarya could not attend the event as she had a prior family commitment.
So after having won many awards and international recognitions, how did she feel upon receiving this particular honour? Ash said this in a statement, 'I'd like to dedicate this award to every professional I've worked with throughout my career and to my audience in India and the world over for their love, support and blessings - and my family.'
Even after all these years, we're glad to hear Aishwarya Rai Bachchan still manages to remain so humble in her comments.
